Earning your own money gives you more control over choices—where you live, who you date or marry, whether you can leave unhealthy situations, how you raise children, and how you spend your time.
Have your own foundation not necessarily “be rich,” but be capable of supporting yourself.
Develop the ability to support yourself financially, so your major life choices come from preference rather than dependency.
