Coachella or the "The Influencer Olympics" as some people have now called it is arguably the most talked about music festival in the world.
Every year nearly 250,000 people flock to Palm Springs to attend this festival 🌴

Aside from the music, Coachella has been a major source of marketing for many brands over the years as the festival helps to give these brands huge exposure.

Revolve, the fashion brand has hosted the Revolve Festival for years now which is an invite-only pre-party at Coachella which attracts loads of celebrities and influencers alike.

Many brands take groups of influencers to the festival, pay for their tickets, pay for a luxury mansion for them to stay at and the aim is to generate sales and exposure.
This year Guess took a big group such as Alix Earle and David Dobrik by private jet and it has been rumoured that some of them have been paid 6 figures to attend with the brand...

Online people are saying that the focus on brand partnerships and influencer content is taking away from the festival itself...

Is re-branding important?

Short answer, yes.

Why?

✅It can help the brand to reach new customers
✅It helps to set the brand apart from its competitors
✅Helps the brand to keep up with the current trends/change with the times
✅It can also be beneficial when a brand is changing direction/launching new products.

Pepsi recently unveiled their new branding which will be rolled out in the U.S. this year and globally in 2024. The rebrand looks very similar to the branding used in the 90s but they decided to put a more modern spin on it, using the colour black more to focus in on their Pepsi Zero Sugar.

Many other brands have recently done the same, such as Robinsons, Nokia, and 7Up which is another PepsiCo brand.

Sometimes taking your own advice can be hard...

We always preach that consistency is key when it comes to growing a presence on social media but this week we haven't followed through with that on our own socials.

Our excuse was that we were so busy with client work that we didn't have the time, but that shouldn't be an excuse and we should have made the time!

Of course it is ok to take breaks now and again but it is also important to take a step back and realise that we could have avoided scenarios like the past week by being that bit more organised and by having extra content scheduled in further in advance.

Heinz x Absolut...the collaboration we didn't know we needed!

It's no secret that TikTok has the ability to make things go extremely viral, recipes being a big one.

Who remembers the days when the "Gigi Hadid Vodka Pasta" seemed to be every second video on their for you page? 🍝

To give context if you haven't heard about this recipe, the hashtag has over 444 million views on TikTok 🤯

Because of how viral this recipe went, in comes Heinz and Absolut, a pairing I think most people would never have expected but it makes so much sense and it is such a clever collaboration.

The two brands have collaborated to create a limited edition tomato vodka pasta sauce making it that bit easier for the TikTok lovers to make the viral recipe!

1. McDonalds Shamrock Shake: you always know St. Patrick's Day isn't too far away when this makes an appearance 🤣

2. Global Greening: Every year seeing all of the most famous and iconic landmarks across the world being lit up green to mark St. Patrick's Day is a total spectacle. This year it won't be going ahead due to the global energy crisis. This campaign has been running since 2010 by Tourism Ireland and has been hugely effective.

3. Guinness: They just always have the best marketing campaigns what more can we say 😅

Everybody Wins at the Oscars if Distinctive Assets has anything to do with it!

As we all know, The Oscars are considered to be the most prestigious awards in the acting world so the gift bags need to be up to standard 👀

$125,000 is the estimated value of the gift bags that were gifted to the 2023 nominees (eyes = watering).

Some may criticise these gift bags saying they are "tone-deaf" considering the current economic climate and cost of living crisis going on in the world, but if you take a closer look it is much more than just a high-end gift bag given to celebrities.

Lash Fary, the founder of Distinctive Assets has said that his aim with these now iconic gift bags or "swag bags" is to give brands, big and small the opportunity to be placed in front of a celebrity audience when they otherwise may never have gotten the chance.

Although there is no guarantee that the celebrities will promote any of the brands or products included, it has happened many times in the past, and even to just be included in such a prestigious gift bag is huge for these brands!

2 iconic brands, 1 massive partnership....Spotify x FC Barcelona.

What happens when the world's largest audio streaming service and one of the most recognised football clubs in the world collaborate?🎵⚽

In March of 2022 when Spotify announced that they would be entering into a 4-year long partnership with FC Barcelona worth $310 million it surprised a lot of people. The aim of this partnership was to bring the worlds of music and football together and celebrate artists from around the globe while also helping FC Barcelona fans to connect with their favourite artists and players!

A year later, let's look back at all the great things that have come from this partnership!

1️⃣For the first time in history the iconic Camp Nou was renamed to be Spotify Camp Nou.

2️⃣Spotify is displayed at the front of both the men's and women's jerseys started in the 2022/2023 season and will continue for the next four seasons.

3️⃣There is a dedicated FC Barcelona genre on Spotify where you can listen to the likes of Lewandowski's match-day playlist.

4️⃣They have created an FC Bareclona podcast giving listeners behind the scenes information.

5️⃣They have made the Spotify app available in Catalan (the language spoken in Barcelona) making it more accessible for the FC Barcelona fans.

6️⃣Music artist collaborations: In October 2022 for El Clasico Spotify removed their logo from the teams jersey and instead included Drake's Ovo Owl logo to celebrate him being the first artist to reach 50 billion streams on the platform.
It is believed that Rosalia will be the second artist to be celebrated like this in the El Clasico game on March 19th.

Here's how Silk Milk drew inspiration from the iconic "Got Milk" campaign to advertise their plant-based milk to target the next generation of milk drinkers 🥛

They say imitation is the greatest form of flattery and Silk Milk have really took this literally with their latest campaign 🤣

I think everyone will be familiar with the "Got Milk" campaign where they had well known faces sport a milk moustache. This campaign was created to encourage Americans to consume more milk and the campaign went viral to say the least. The campaign ended quite a number of years ago due to
a continued decline in consumption rates.

Now here we are in 2023 and more and more people are reaching for plant-based products so in comes Silk Milk with their new plant-based milk called "Next Milk".

They have re-used the iconic milk moustache and they have nepo babies such as Brooklyn Peltz Beckham as one of the faces of the campaign.

Their aim with this campaign is to get more of the younger generation drinking their plant-based milk rather than dairy milk.

A big topic of debate since it was announced last week....Meta Verified.

We have very mixed feelings about this latest announcement from Meta 😕

There are naturally going to be pro's and cons for anything so here are our thoughts!

Pro's:
1. Added protection from impersonators
2. Government ID is needed to apply for a verified badge.
3. Overall added security.
4. Increased status

Cons:
1. Verification has always been free so to monetise it now seems like a money grab?
2. Unfair to users who may not be in a position to purchase the monthly subscription which links into the next point...
3. They are saying that there will be increased visibility for verified accounts which means their content will likely be pushed more than non-verified users.
4. Only available for individuals and not companies (so far).

These are just our initial opinions. We would love to hear some other points of view/opinions in the comments!👇
