We're just gonna stand beside the statue with a watergun and start blasting the overly handsy tourists

New shrub beds have been placed around the Molly Malone statue in an attempt to discourage tourists from groping her, but it appears as though it hasn't disheartened many - with visitors climbing the barricades to get their hands on the statue.

The Design Shop & Pottery Studio, located in Marino, was burgled during the early hours of Sunday morning. The break-in caused destruction to the shop's exterior & the ceramics inside, resulting in a significant amount of financial damage. Gardaí are investigating the incident, with a spokesman saying enquiries are “ongoing”. The studio took to Instagram to confirm they will be reopening again from Thursday November 27.

The history of The Liberties

The Liberties in Dublin 8 is absolutely steeped in history, with its name coming directly from the unique legal and economic 'liberties' granted to the area's monastic and civic authorities in medieval times. This allowed the district to operate outside the usual jurisdiction of the city proper.

It's historically famous for its brewing, distilling, and thriving markets, and remains the historical heart of Dublin life, characterised by its colourful character.

Do you have a fun fact about The Liberties? Lettuce know below🥬

One of our favourite steak purveyors, Boeuf, have just opened their brand new restaurant so we had to fly down for a look!

🚨 Traffic Warning! 🚨

Up to 1,500 taxi drivers are staging a massive slow-drive protest from 4 pm to 6 pm today against Uber's new fixed fares. Expect major disruptions in the city centre as three separate convoys converge at the Matt Talbot Bridge from Conyngham Road and Clontarf Road, before crawling toward Merrion Square and Government Buildings.

A third group will be slowing things right down between the Dublin Airport roundabout and the M1 Junction 2 exit.

If you're heading anywhere this evening, leave yourselves plenty of extra time because delays are nearly guaranteed

The nightclub scene in Dublin is getting a well needed lift this week with the arrival of a new basement spot in the city centre🍻

The space, Chez Spice at Kaldero, will run as a free-entry, vinyl-focused night room, every Friday and Saturday, once the kitchen closes.

The team behind Bahay and Kaldero, recently recognised by The Irish Times and Hot Press, will turn their restaurant into a late-night music den.

A great addition👏

Punk-rap duo Bob Vylan, who recently faced a storm of condemnation- including from the UK Prime Minister- over a pro-Palestinian chant at Glastonbury, were hosted by Sinn Féin TD Eoin Ó Broin for a tour of Leinster House and a meeting with Oireachtas members today. Ahead of their Vicar Street gig, the pair met with Sinn Féin and other pro-Palestinian politicians, including People Before Profit, Independent, and Social Democrats representatives, but not those from Fianna Fáil or Fine Gael.

Ó Broin stated the visit was intended to show Irish political support for the musicians' "very strong stand against genocide" in Gaza, noting the risks involved in their political engagement. The duo's visit coincided with a pro-Palestine protest outside, where they were greeted with applause and stopped to take photos with supporters.

Big news for Dublin commuters - the Red Luas line is finally, officially reopening this Friday after three long months! Since a massive fire majorly damaged the George's Dock bridge back in August, the section between Connolly and The Point has been shut, meaning everyone's been stuck on replacement buses. But thankfully, after a huge construction effort to completely rebuild the bridge and cables, the trams are back just in time for the Christmas party season.

Even better, the long-awaited 'Night Luas' is kicking off soon, too, with extended late-night services (running up to around 3 am) on both the Red and Green lines on select December weekends and New Year's Eve. You can find the full schedule over on Luas.ie.
