There's more to Naas than meets the eye 👀

This month, we're turning our attention to Naas for our Livin’ Like a Local series - diving into the vibrant culture and deep-rooted history of this bustling Kildare town.

Once known as Nás na Ríogh, or “Place of the Kings,” Naas has a royal past that stretches back centuries. These days, it’s all about farmers’ markets, cosy cafés, and strong community spirit - but it's also rich in history if you know where to look

Billie Eilish wrapped up the UK and European leg of her world tour with two sold-out shows at Dublin’s 3Arena, where she took a moment to reflect on her heritage and express heartfelt gratitude to her fans. Performing on July 26, the Grammy-winning singer shared how being in Ireland made her feel a deep connection with the audience.

Eilish, whose full name is Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O’Connell, is of Irish and Scottish descent.

“Obviously, I am not from here, but it’s really cool to come somewhere and everybody looks exactly like you,” she told the crowd. “You’re all just as pasty as me. I love it.”

She added, “It just makes me feel so seen. Also, a thousand of my relatives are in the crowd right now, I’m pretty sure.”
Eilish ended her message on a warm note, calling the crowd “so beautiful” and expressing her appreciation for the warm reception: “I love it here – it’s so beautiful and you are all so beautiful and I see so many familiar faces out there.”

We're not jealous at all🥲

Every neighbourhood across Dublin dreams of having their own Bread 41, and now for Cabinteely the dream has come true. To celebrate the big day, Bread 41 has teamed up with All About Kombucha for an exclusive launch treat, their brand new A-live sodas! Starting today, Wednesday 30th July, and running through Thursday 31st July and Friday 1st August, the first 100 purchases in the new Cabinteely store each day will come with a free can.

This latest launch marks another big step in their expansion and is their fourth location after Stillorgan, Pearse Street and Greystones. If the rumour mill is to be believed we will have another one in another seaside village before the year is out, but that’s just conjecture at the moment.

Have you been to Kaldero?

Kaldero is the kind of place you walk into and instantly feel good about. It's tucked just off Grafton Street and run by Richie and Alex - the couple behind Bahay, the amazing Filipino food truck you probably lined up for at a festival. Richie helped shape Kaldero from the beginning, but this marks the first time he and Alex are running the whole show, from the kitchen to the vibe. Now that they’ve gone brick-and-mortar, it’s all paying off: banana ketchup-glazed chicken skewers, crispy sweet potato okoy, pork sisig with a glossy egg yolk, and a kare kare oxtail stew that’s pure comfort.

Pair it with a funky chilled red and some garlic fried rice, and you’re golden. It’s food with heart, and a team that’s earned every bit of the hype.

This Thursday, July 31st, Dublin’s streets become a playground for a one-off alleycat checkpoint race from 6–9PM, as cult Dublin retailer Emporium teams up with adidas and local run crew Mild Activity.

Known for its carefully curated streetwear and deep ties to the city’s creative scene, Emporium’s collaboration with the global sportswear giant marks a major cultural crossover.

Runners will wear exclusive Emporium x adidas kits and adizero EVO SLs as they dash between mystery checkpoints. The race ends at Emporium’s Drury Street store for an in-store party and the first drop of collab merch, soundtracked by Tara Kumar and Silent Jee.
