We've got a new Juice Jar on Aungier Street to have on our radar!

Do we think we're stuck with Dubai chocolate now, or one day it'll just become a part of history we reminisce about once in a while?

The toasties didn't come to play; these are keeping you full, that's for sure.

Very sound advice

Ahead of the Vikings vs Steelers match in Dublin this Sunday, some advice has been issued to Americans travelling to Dublin.

Tom Parry-Jones, the Vikings UK and Ireland Fan Club content lead, said to football fans:
"Don't do an Irish accent, because that won't ingratiate you with anyone, but, you know, be respectful. Enjoy the surroundings. Don't be too loud."

When we look at the perks that come with 'The Freedom of the City', he's in for a real treat that us run-of-the-mill folk couldn't dream of.

Such as the right to pasture sheep in common ground within the city boundaries, so when we see him in St.Stephen's Green with his flock, just leave him be.

You're also allowed to bring goods into Dublin through the city gates without paying customs duties.

You also have the right to vote in municipal and parliamentary elections, which, after reading the first two, just isn't selling it as hard.

The Freedom of the City is Dublin's highest civic honour, previously awarded to figures such as Nelson Mandela, John F. Kennedy, U2 and Greta Thunberg.

Lord Mayor Ray McAdam said the ceremony will fulfil the original decision made by councillors and marks a chance to officially recognise Obama's global contributions to leadership and public service.

The former US President formally accepted the Freedom of the City of Dublin last night at a private ceremony. He takes to the stage later on tonight at the 3Arena for "an evening with Barack Obama with Fintan O'Toole"

A beautiful tribute to some amazing women❤️

A striking new mural has just been unveiled on Crane Street, celebrating some of the incredible women who’ve shaped the heart and soul of the Liberties.

The artwork, part of a new street art installation, features familiar local faces including the late Kathleen Farrell - a beloved community figure who passed away earlier this year - alongside long-standing activists Rita Fagan and Liz O’Connor. Also honoured is Olivia Guinness, the iconic matriarch of the Guinness family and wife of Arthur himself.

Other notable people who have received the honour include John F. Kennedy, Nelson Mandela, and Greta Thunberg.

Former US President Barack Obama is expected to formally accept the Freedom of Dublin at a ceremony in the Mansion House this week, nearly eight years after he and his wife Michelle were first awarded the honour by Dublin City Council in 2017.

While Michelle Obama won’t be in attendance, the event is set to take place on Thursday ahead of the former president's talk in the 3Arena. The Freedom of the City is Dublin’s highest civic honour, previously awarded to figures such as Nelson Mandela, John F. Kennedy, U2 and Greta Thunberg. Lord Mayor Ray McAdam said the ceremony will fulfil the original decision made by councillors and marks a chance to officially recognise Obama’s global contributions to leadership and public service.

The CEO of Dublin Town, Richard Guiney, has suggested that Ireland consider introducing curfews or designated exclusion zones in Dublin City Centre in response to a rise in anti-social behaviour. Speaking on RTÉ's Morning Ireland, Guiney expressed concern following two violent incidents over the weekend.

On Saturday, an English tourist was stabbed in the city centre, followed by a separate incident on Sunday evening where a teenage boy was rushed to hospital after being stabbed multiple times on Eden Quay. Both attacks have sparked renewed debate about public safety in the capital.

Guiney said measures such as curfews or restricted access areas could help reduce risk and protect both residents and visitors. He added that public confidence in the city needs to be restored before long-term damage is done to its reputation.

Dublin Town, the organisation he leads, is a collective representing over 2,500 businesses operating in the city centre.

Did you know Ireland’s newest 23 million euro development has docked at the IFSC?

This is Dublin’s first public Water Sports Centre and will give more access to the River Liffey for activities.

The Quayside project will provide more access to the River Liffey for activities such as paddleboarding and kayaking.

You might recognise the location from the previously proposed white water rafting centre, which wasn’t approved.

There are talks of a dry dock, with the council proposing an outdoor swimming area and lidos.

As they’re currently in the trialling phase of what water-based activities to offer, we’ll only find out next year what will actually be on offer, just before they officially open the doors in spring.
