When Una Williams took up photography as a hobby back in the 1980’s,
little did she know that within four short months she would have her
first photograph published in Ireland’s most popular music
publication, Hot Press. Indulging in her passion working with the
camera, Una embraced her new found career and soon became a regular
contributor to many Irish publications, such as; Hot Press Magazine,
In Dublin Magazine, U Magazine and numerous newspaper publications
including The Star. Working with many well known rock bands, the talented and well liked
photographer became a regular on the Dublin social scene. In the mid
80’s Una toured with popular Irish rock band, Les Enfants, and covered
all other major concerts in the Point Depot, now known as the O2. Gaining the respect she deserved from the music business, Una secured
backstage passes to various gigs at the RDS, where she photographed
the likes of Elton John, BB King and Emmylou Harris and many more. Being the only female photographer focusing on the music industry at
the time, Una paved the way and proved to be an inspiration for future
female photographers. When she was asked along to a high profile fashion show in aid of a
Chernobyl Charity in the 90’s, Una found herself photographing the
ultimate supermodels Naomi Campbell and Jasmin Le Bon as well as up
and coming boy band at the time, Boyzone. In early 2000, Una took time out to rear a family and put her
blossoming career on hold as she put all her time and effort into her
five beautiful children. In 2008, Una made the great decision to revive her career and once
again picked up the camera she is so natural around and eagerly
continued from where she left off. Delighted with the return of this talented woman, Una found herself in
constant demand covering social events and high profile fashion shows. Her photographs are regularly published in R.S.V.P., Irish Tattler,
The Irish Independent, The Sunday Independent, The Daily Mail, The
Star, The Irish Sun, and The Gazette, to name a few. In June 2011, Una secured passes and expertly photographed the Def
Leppard concert, featuring Alice Cooper. Also that month, Una was hired by the PR team of popular American
singer-songwriter, Kesha, when she performed to a sell out crowd in
the O2. Una has joined the Compton Model Agency Team and is now the official
photographer for Compton PR and willingly covers celebrity weddings,
high profile fashion shows, charity events, local events, model
portfolios, Head Shots, family shoots and various other projects. Well know Charity's and event companies regularly use Una as part of
their team to work on high profile events around Ireland as she is
