Over 2 years I made and published 10 local activity books featuring Raheny, Clontarf, Portmarnock and Howth/Sutton. Those books “found” 12 young talented artists - all from local schools - and 9 adult artists, and got them published.

They were made for different ages, and features lots of local landmarks, animals, historical events and local phenomena like Raheny GAA or Bull Island fauna and flora. One of them was a fundraiser for Raheny Tidy Village, 2 were special Christmas editions, and some will not print again.

I’ll make 1 or 2 full “collectors’” sets of all 10 books and will be able to offer them next week. Let me know if you’ll like to have one.

As you guessed, I’ll pause the books for now - I’ll have to focus on my photography and other projects. I might be coming up with something totally new!

One of my less visible lines of work - I help artists to get their paintings and other artwork into prints, cards and all sorts of stationary. I make high-resolution photography, process image for best printing results and get it designed and printed in exceptional quality.

This poster uses the painting of Clontarf Prom by Anna Brooks of Vernon Art Group, one of my favourite artists, and a collaborator. Anna Brooks and other brilliant artists of the group will exhibit at Red Stables during the Rose Festival 18-19 July.

For my dear new (and old) followers - quick summary what I actually do:

- Photo-story books and digital photo archives for families - birthday books, family history books, wedding books, family trees design etc.
- Sentimental local publishing in Raheny, Clontarf and now - Portmarnock and Howth/Sutton: calendars, kids' activity books, local greeting cards, postcards - and soon something totally new. My favourite part - I do all the photography, and find young local talent for illustrations. By now through my art competitions and local network I worked with 14 new artists, most of them - pupils from local primary and secondary schools! All of them have now got their artworks published!

Was quiet about this one till now!

It was an honour to work on that with Raheny Tidy Raheny Tidy Village Group and with young Meeraba, a very talented young illustrator, who worked with me on one of my past projects.

It’s a lovely little publication - part educational, telling about Raheny’s biodiversity, part fun - it’s a colouring book with lovely illustrations - and part a little fundraiser.

It’s also available in my online shop in the first comment, all proceeds go to Raheny Tidy Village to support their great work.

I started to make Raheny and Clontarf greeting cards over three years ago. Checked now - I had over 30 designs over time, and sold over 1500 copies!

Thank you for your ongoing support, it means so much! Hope my cards still amuse.

I’ll keep coming up with new designs, and will be forever grateful for your comments or critique. Which sites are your favourite? Which types should I make more of and less of?

Out of 30 about 15 designs are still in stock. Full selection in my online shop (link in comments), and some selection always in Tully’s pharmacy on the Howth Rd, Mace at St. Ann’s, and Kelly’s Spar on Stiles Road.

I recently finished a wedding photo-story book for Amanda and Colm. It was a happy happy project, as the joy of the day, and all the love it brings is inspiring to work with.

I might be working on a new local kids’ activity book, my 10th. And it might even be my last for a while.

Meet my new illustrator. For the first time, it’s my own family, my youngest treasure, Miss Agnia Doyle.

Agnia is not seeing herself as an artist. Her prime talents are baking, gymnastics and cracking jokes. Ah yes, and pottery.

But Agnia has an artistic talent, especially in graphic art. After we gave a stage to so many young and grown-up artists in other books,
it’s time I let my Agnia shine as well!

What is a photo-story book? What can you do with it? And what’s the difference from a genealogical study?

The video is just under 3 minutes, an example of one of my recent photo-story books. By modern standards the video is long - but how fast can you flip through the book of almost 100 years lifetime of few generations?

Typically a book like that will take about 3 weeks - from our first interview to the printed book delivered to you.
