Colaiste Eanna TY students creating a miniature satellite the size of a soft drinks can. In association with DIT, and EnBio surface enhancing technologies, The Felix Project shall be testing different insulating materials such as cotton, aluminium, nylon and hopefully the material used by Felix Baumgartner in his decent to earth in his skydive from the stratosphere.

Although we didn't come out on top on Saturday, it's safe to say some of the main things that we've learned from this experience is that no engineer is ever certain of what they're doing, and put a GPS into your satellites if you want them back (we've got our one delivered back to us today by a kind lady from Offaly)!

We are proud to announce that on Wednesday we managed to win the Leinster finals of the competition we shall be heading down to Birr Co. Offaly soon. But this would not have been possible if not for the help of our teachers, DIT, The ESA, EnBio and many others whom have helped us along the way thanks to everyone.

Tomorrow we shall be soldering our project. Our wiring to the breadboard has been working to perfection so lets hope that tomorrow the soldering will work.
