My name is Seamus Kelly editor and administrator of the newly created facebook page, Dublin Concrete News and I would like to welcome shares, likes and comments on this new page, which is a voluntaty, non profit non funded news face book page. The Dublin Concrete News is dedicated to promoting and reporting positive news. As a retired freelance national press journalist NUJ (National Union of Jou
rnalists) and editor of the former Ballymun Concrete News, it is my intention to continue to develop a new concept in journalism through reporting positive news. I would also hope that this concept will have an influence in the mainstream media to focus on the positive rather than the negative news in sections of the media. While there may be occasions to report some negative news, it is important that this needs to be reported in a positive editorial manner. I personally believe that positive reported news in the media does have a good effect on people and creates a feel good factor, which is needed in a time of continuing negativity often bombarded through sections of the media. Positive news can also be good for communities and help create a positive image of their area and the people who live there. My previous newspaper the Ballymun Concrete News of which I was editor/proprietor was also focused on promoting positive news but in the Ballymun area only. The Ballymun Concrete News is currently archived on Dublin City digital archives. You can view these archives by clicking this short url link; http://bit.ly/BallymunConcreteNews . The newspaper hard copies can also be viewed at the National Library of Ireland.
