Improving the skills of European professionals in the European audiovisual sector is a core objective of the Creative Europe MEDIA strand. MEDIA's professional development training programmes take place all over Europe and beyond.

Some upcoming training programmes:
Script & project development: The Résidence | Paris
This is 6 month training and mentoring programme for emerging international filmmakers that supports the development of a first or second feature film. Residents benefit from individual script consultancy, pitching coaching, and access to European festivals and markets including the Marché du Film. The Residence 2027 will run from 15 March to 31 July 2027. Applications are open now until 30 September 2026.

Production & post production: Art Department Masterclass 2026 | Vilnius - 5-10 November 2026 in Vlunius Lithuania. Art Department Masterclass is for art department professionals from all over the world. For production designers, art directors, set decorators, prop masters, set dressers, graphic designers, and anyone working in the art department with at least 5 years of professional experience. They select 20 participants for each training session. Application deadline 01 September, 2026.

Management & legal affairs: Talent Bridge | Online + In Person
A hybrid training and mentoring programme for emerging filmmakers with the experience of 1-3 short films. Through workshops at Clermont-Ferrand, Cannes, Vilnius and Limassol as well as online events, participants develop key skills in pitching, audience strategy, digital distribution and new technologies. Galway's MEDIA office recently hosted the Creative Europe Co-production Dinner, our annual event at the opening evening of the Galway Film Fair. Ba mhór an onóir dúinn Rónán Ó Domhnaill a bheith linn ina aoichainteoir. We had the privilege of having Coimisiún na Meán's MEDIA Development Commissioner, Rónán Ó Domhnaill as our keynote speaker for the dinner.
