Creative Europe Desk Ireland - Culture Office will outline Creative Europe funding available for cultural organisations and for artists, musicians and other creative professionals willing to implement a project abroad with funding from the Culture Moves Europe scheme. Guest artist Paul Hallahan will chat about his experience of Culture Moves Europe Mobility funding.

Creative Europe Desk Ireland - MEDIA Office will present some of the Irish audiovisual work funded by Creative Europe MEDIA such as film, animation, TV, documentaries, and video games. Find out more about EU training opportunities available for media professionals as well as a new Screen Ireland scheme that aims to boost new and diverse writing talent.

Fingal County Council / Fingal Arts Officer Sarah O'Neill will provide information on the Fingal Artists' Support Scheme and Arts Act Grant.

In this Film Ireland podcast dedicated to Galway Film Fleadh, Gemma Creagh talks to Gar O’Rourke, director of ‘Sanatorium’ documentary which screens on Friday 11th July at 3.30pm in Town Hall Theatre.

Sanatorium was supported by MEDIA development funding awarded to Venom Film.

The Galway Film Fleadh runs from 8th to 13th July.

Wellbeing in a warzone: on the outskirts of Odesa, stands Kuyalnyk Sanatorium. Each summer, thousands of Ukrainians come, drawn by Soviet-era therapies and the chance to relax beside the salt lake.

Film Ireland is delighted to be partnering with the Galway Film Fleadh with our latest this podcast, where we chat with Gar O'Rourke, Director of ‘Sanatorium’. We also catch up with Short Film Programmer Holly Buckley, who casts an eye over the shorts playing at the festival.

Film Ireland, supported by Coimisiún na Meán, have announced the second edition of the Film Ireland Journalism Mentorship Programme, designed to empower writers from a wide variety of backgrounds.

Over the course of this training, participants will refine their film writing analysis skills, enhance their industry knowledge, and build a professional network in the process. Led by the core Film Ireland team and featuring industry experts, this scheme offers a blend of practical training, personalised mentorship, and real-world publishing opportunities.

Duration: 2nd September – 9th December 2025.
Format: Tuesday evenings on Zoom, 1.5 hours per session, with up to 4 additional hours of weekly work, which will be presented at the following session.
Application Deadline: 5pm, 18th July, 2025.

The majority of this course will be taught online, however you must be able to attend two key dates in person. Exact dates will be provided upon acceptance into the programme.

Creative Europe MEDIA Programme in Ireland

Creative Europe Desk Ireland has two specialist MEDIA information offices, one based in Dublin and one in Galway. We offer comprehensive information on the European Union’s Creative Europe Programme and specifically the MEDIA sub-programme. We provide advice, support and information on Creative Europe funding support for the audiovisual industries including film, television and games. You can meet with us in one-to-one advice sessions or by coming along to the events we organise throughout the year. We are also available to respond to any queries you have about the programme over the phone and on email. The Creative Europe Desk MEDIA Office Galway serves as a regional MEDIA office and also has a remit to provide information and services as Gaeilge to the growing Irish language audio-visual community.
