Seven people, including two serving police officers, have died after a car travelling the wrong way collided head-on with a marked police vehicle following a pursuit.

A post-mortem has been carried out, with Gardaí following a line of inquiry.

Friedreich’s Ataxia patients and their loved ones are making a final push for Skyclarys to be made available in Ireland.

Patients say the Government needs to work with the HSE to ensure access to the drug, which they say can slow the progression of the disease by up to 55%.

Skyclarys is already approved in 11 European countries, but concerns have been raised about its cost. A protest will be held in Dublin tomorrow ahead of a final HSE decision on Tuesday.

More than 3,500 Ultimate Frisbee players from 38 countries have taken part in the World Ultimate Club Championships in Limerick this week.

The finals took place in the city today after athletes from around the world descended on the University of Limerick.
