The biggest career myth?

Thinking you need 100% clarity before taking action.

Reality check:
🙅‍♀️ Clarity doesn’t come from overthinking.
🙅‍♀️ You won’t ‘figure it all out’ just by waiting.
🙅‍♀️ The perfect next move doesn’t exist.

The only way to get unstuck is to start moving.

And no, you don’t have to make a huge leap – just a small, intentional step in the right direction.

What’s one small action you can take this week to move forward? 💬

Sunday night isn’t relaxing. It’s a warning sign.

You’re staring at your laptop, half-watching Netflix, half-dreading another week of the same.

You tell yourself...
“Maybe this week will feel different.”
“Maybe the workload won’t feel so heavy.”
“Maybe I’ll finally figure it out.”

But deep down? You already know.

Monday will come, and you’ll fall straight back into the same routine.

You’ll push the questions aside – because thinking about them feels overwhelming.

You’ll tell yourself you’ll deal with it later – after this project, after this quarter, after this year.

But, how long have you been saying that?

Because while you wait for the ‘right time’…
Time isn’t waiting for you.

Your career isn’t stuck.
You are.

And unless something changes, a year from now? You’ll be in the same place.

Same job.
Same frustration.
Same “What if?” running through your head.

So what’s really stopping you?

If this hit home, DM me the words ‘I’M READY’ and let’s talk.

Q1 was full.
Full of moments that stretched me. Grounded me. Grew me.

In business. In life. In leadership.

From keynote stages to cake-filled birthdays, live radio to tough personal moments – I lived every layer.

Some days I was soaring.

Other days I was crawling to the finish line (coldsores, anyone? 🫠).

But here’s what I’ve learned again and again ⤵️

✨ You can build big things but you still need to rest.

✨ You can hold the mic one day and hold your child’s hand the next.

✨ You can lead others while learning to lead yourself with even more compassion.

I’m proud of what this quarter held – from podcast chats and speaking gigs, to baking cakes and holding boundaries.

It wasn’t perfect, but it was real.

So now I want to know – what about you?

What are you celebrating from Q1 – big or small, loud or quiet?

Drop it below and let’s cheer each other on 💬 💛

You didn’t build your career just to feel like a cog in the machine. But here you are.

You log in, check your inbox, and already feel behind. You spend the first hour responding to emails that don’t actually move anything forward.

Your calendar is back-to-back meetings – half of which could’ve been a quick Slack message. You offer your input, but it’s the same conversations, the same problems, and the same non-decisions that lead to another “follow-up” call next week.

Then it’s onto the to-do list: updating spreadsheets, tweaking reports, fixing a last-minute deck for someone else’s presentation. Tasks that keep the machine running, but don’t get you anywhere.

By mid-afternoon, your brain is checked out. You reread the same email three times. You check the clock, hoping it’s nearly five – but somehow, only ten minutes have passed.

Another day, another box ticked.

🙅‍♀️ No momentum.
🙅‍♀️ No progress.
🙅‍♀️ No real sense of achievement.

Repetitive work KILLS creativity.

Your brain craves challenge, variety, a sense of movement. But instead, your workdays feel like a copy-paste loop 🥱

The more predictable your job becomes, the harder it is to stay engaged.

The longer you stay in a rut, the harder it is to break out.

So, let’s talk about it – what’s one part of your daily work routine that drains you the most?

27/03/2025

If you’re waiting to feel ready, here’s your wake-up call:
It’s NOT happening.

Motivation isn’t the problem. Waiting for it is.

Here’s how to take action – even when you couldn’t be bothered:

👉 The 5-Minute Rule:

Commit to just five minutes. Once you start, your brain will want to keep going.

👉 Make It Ridiculously Easy:

The first step should be so small it’s impossible to say no.
Instead of “I’ll figure out my next career move”, try “I’ll write down three things I actually enjoy at work”.

👉 Set Action-Based Goals:

Ditch vague goals like “I want to get promoted” or “I need to network more”

Swap them for:
“I’ll reach out to one new LinkedIn connection this week”
“I’ll speak up at least once in my next team meeting”
“I’ll spend 10 minutes a day upskilling in something that actually excites me”

👉 Stack New Actions to Existing Habits:

Tie a new action to something you already do.
After your morning coffee, spend 2 minutes planning one small career move for the day.

The trick? You don’t wait for motivation – you create it.

What’s one small action you’ll take today? 💙

We all love that buzz – the “This is it, I’m finally sorting my life out” moment.

But then?
It disappears.

You don’t feel like doing the work.

You tell yourself “I’ll wait ‘til I’m in the right headspace”… but the headspace never magically appears.

And suddenly, weeks (or months) have passed, and you’re no closer to where you want to be.

This is exactly why waiting for motivation keeps you stuck.

The people who get ahead?

They don’t wait to feel inspired.
They take action when it’s the last thing they want to do.
They know that momentum beats motivation – every single time.

Because let’s be honest – if we only did things when we felt like it, we’d all be having biscuits for dinner and avoiding emails forever.

Imagine looking back six months from now, still stuck in the same place.

What’s the one thing you’ll wish you had taken action on today? 💙

Success isn’t just about how much you do – it’s about who knows you did it.

Because here’s the reality:

If your wins aren’t visible, they’re easy to overlook ( by you and others).

If decision-makers don’t hear your name, they don’t think of you when opportunities arise.

If you’re not in the conversations that shape your organisation, someone else will be.

And you didn’t put in all that work just to stay in the background.

The truth?

We don’t work in a perfect meritocracy. Visibility matters – and it always has.

But here’s what we’re not doing:

Doubling our workload for half the recognition.

Waiting for leadership to finally notice us.

Over-proving ourselves while others skip ahead.

It’s time to work strategically, not just harder.

Swipe through for 4 evidence-backed ways to get noticed – without burning out or bending yourself to fit someone else’s expectations.

You know you’re meant for more. But figuring out what’s next? That’s where you’re stuck.

Maybe you’ve spent months (or years) debating your next move – should you stay, go, pivot, build something of your own?

The overthinking is exhausting, and the longer you wait, the more uncertain you feel.

Clarity doesn’t come from thinking about it more. It comes from making a move – and having the right strategy to back it up.

That’s exactly what we build together in my 3-Month 1:1 Career Coaching Programme.

✅ Strategic career clarity – so you stop second-guessing every decision

✅ Personalised support – so you have a high-level coach in your corner

✅ Momentum – because waiting another year isn’t the answer

You don’t have to figure this out alone. Let’s craft a clear, strategic, and aligned path forward – one that actually makes sense for you.

Spots are limited, and I only take a handful of 1:1 clients each quarter.

DM me ‘Interested’ and let’s chat about whether this is the right fit for you!

When did we start believing that hard work speaks for itself?

You’ve done everything ‘right’.

You’re reliable.
You deliver results.
You take on extra projects.

And yet – the promotions? The recognition? The leadership opportunities? Nowhere to be seen.

It’s not because you’re not capable.
It’s not because you’re not good enough.

But somewhere along the way, we were sold a lie:
“If I just work harder, they’ll notice.”
“My results will speak for themselves.”
“I don’t need to ‘sell myself’ – good work should be enough.”

Except… it’s not.

Leadership rewards visibility, not silent effort.

So before you burn yourself out trying to prove yourself, ask this:
👉 Is your effort actually being seen by the right people?
👉 Do decision-makers know the impact you’re making?
👉 Are you just working harder… or are you working smarter?

What’s the biggest frustration you’ve faced when it comes to getting recognised at work?

If this is hitting a little too close to home and you feel like you’re being overlooked despite everything you’re doing, comment or DM the word “SEEN” and let’s chat.

To the women who ground me.
Who hold me up.
Who challenge me.
Who support me.
Who are kind.

To the women whose shoulders I stand on, and to those who will one day stand on mine.

We hold hands across generations.
Strength passed from palm to palm.
Wisdom shared in quiet moments.
Courage built, not in isolation, but in connection.

For the quiet humble strength you carry, the kind that doesn’t seek recognition, but changes everything.

On International Women’s Day, I celebrate each of you.
The ones who came before.
The ones who walk beside me.
The ones rising after us.

You are amazing. And together, we go further.

08/03/2025

Talking about gender equity once a year won’t fix anything.

But International Women’s Day still matters – if it leads to real action.

Because what actually drives change?

→ Budgets that back up the promises.
→ Policies that remove barriers – not just acknowledge them.
→ Leadership pipelines that don’t leave women stuck mid-career.

It’s not about adding ‘nice-to-have’ initiatives.

It’s about making equity the standard – not the exception.

It’s about ensuring women aren’t just included – but have real decision-making power.

It’s about making sure career opportunities aren’t just ‘available’ – but actually accessible.

If you’re a leader, ask yourself ⤵️
Are the women in my organisation getting access to real career-building opportunities?

Are Non-Promotable Tasks (NPTs) shared fairly – or do women take on most of the ‘office housework’?

Are women’s leadership and development initiatives backed by actual investment?

If you’re in an organisation, ask ⤵️
Who gets seen as ‘high-potential’ – and who gets overlooked?

Are women being mentored and sponsored for leadership – or just invited to ‘inspiring’ panels?

Are DEI initiatives funded beyond IWD – or are they just a one-day photo op?

If a company can afford PR campaigns, networking events, and branded merchandise…

Then it can afford:
✔️ Paid speaking opportunities for women.
✔️ Pay transparency and fair salary structures.
✔️ Investing in women’s leadership development all year round.

Change happens when enough people decide the status quo isn’t good enough.

What’s one concrete action that would make your workplace fairer for women?

Drop it in the comments – let’s build this conversation into something real 💬 👇

Who benefits from International Women’s Day if nothing actually changes?

Every year, we see the same thing.

Companies posting about IWD
A few high-profile women getting featured
A moment of “empowerment” (without actual investment)

And then?

DEI budgets shrink.
Women’s leadership development isn’t funded.
Gender equity is deprioritised the second things get ‘tough’.

And when it’s called out?

“We hire based on merit”
“There’s nothing stopping women from progressing”
“If they just worked harder, they’d get there”

Let’s be clear – believing equity has already arrived is one of the biggest myths holding progress back.

Because when equality is treated as a ‘finished job’, the barriers go unchallenged.

When leaders assume the playing field is level, they ignore the systems that hold women back.

When career progression is framed as ‘just work harder’, it ignores the structural biases baked into the process.

And I see it every single day.

Leaders pushing for fairness.

Women fighting for budgets, policies, and opportunities.

Progress happening – but slowly.

Because while individuals work for change, the system stays the same.

If an organisation can afford PR campaigns, networking events, and branded merchandise… it can afford to invest in real change.

So tell me – what’s the biggest excuse you’ve heard for why gender equity isn’t a priority?

Drop it in the comments. Let’s talk about the real barriers.

🚨 I hate International Women’s Day.

Not because it isn’t important – but because it’s wasted and ends up performative.

I see the women who work day in, day out to drive change.

The ones fighting for budgets, pushing for pay equity, and battling for real progress.

And then, every March, companies show up with hashtags and panels…

While those same women are still having to fight for the basics.

Does your company have a budget for PR and nice lunches – but no budget for women’s leadership development?

Are women front and centre in marketing – but still missing from pay rises, promotions, and high-impact opportunities?

How many of your panelists are being paid in flowers, gift vouchers, or ‘exposure’ – while the venue, catering, and marketing teams are paid in cash?

Here’s how to make IWD count:
👉 If you’re a leader – ask how your influence is creating real change.

👉 If you’re in an organisation – look at who’s getting access to opportunity.

👉 If you see inequality – call it out.

Because real fairness isn’t just about celebrating women. It’s about ensuring they have the same opportunities as everyone else.

What’s the one thing your workplace needs to fix beyond IWD? 💬

Drop it in the comments. Let’s make this conversation count.

You’ve been unhappy at work for how long now?

Let’s be real: You’re smashing deadlines, solving problems, and making everything run smoothly. But for all that effort, you’re starting to wonder… “Is this actually moving me forward?”

Here’s the reality:
✔ 60% of people feel disengaged at work.
✔ 80,000 hours of your life will be spent working.

That’s too much time to waste on a career that leaves you feeling stuck.

And staying stuck isn’t just frustrating – it’s costly.

→ Less growth, less courage, and more stress.

→ Opportunities passing you by while you ‘think about it’.

→ Looking back in 10 years, wondering why you didn’t make a move sooner.

You’re not stuck because you’re not capable – you’re stuck because you’ve been busy executing instead of exploring.

So, how long have you been in career limbo?

A) Less than 6 months
B) 1-2 years
C) Too long
D) I can’t even count

💬 Drop your answer below – and let’s start the conversation that moves you forward.

The what ifs are loud, aren’t they?

What if I’m meant for more… but I’m too scared to go after it?

What if I wake up in 10 years and realise I played it safe?

What if I never take the leap?

It’s that constant tug-of-war between wanting more and talking yourself out of it.

But here’s something worth considering:

👉 Regret changes as we age. Research shows that in the short term, we regret mistakes. But in the long run? We regret the chances we never took.

👉 What if fear isn’t a stop sign – but a sign that you’re on the edge of something important?

👉 What if the real risk isn’t change… but staying the same and wondering ‘what if’ for years to come?

If these thoughts have been circling in your head, drop a 🙌 in the comments – or tell me, which what if hits hardest? 👇

Newsflash: Being busy doesn’t mean you’re making progress.

Let’s talk about it. You’re constantly on the go – ticking off tasks, managing chaos, keeping everything on track. But does it feel like you’re actually moving forward?

Because if you’ve ever caught yourself thinking:

→ Am I just working for the sake of working?

→ Why does it feel like my career isn’t going anywhere?

→ Is this really what I want?

Then this is for you.

This might be hard to hear, but:

✔ If you’re handling everything except your own career growth, you’re stuck.

✔ If you’re smashing deadlines but feeling disconnected, something’s off.

✔ If you’re constantly questioning whether you’re in the right role, that’s your gut telling you to hit pause.

The longer you stay in this cycle of busyness without direction, the harder it gets to step back and see what’s possible.

That’s exactly why I created the 6 Steps to Career Clarity guide.

Because clarity isn’t about thinking in circles – it’s about understanding what’s really driving your career, then making clear, confident moves that get you where you want to be.

✔️ Get clear on what truly matters to you.

✔️ Build a step-by-step strategy that works in real life.

✔️ Start making decisions that lead to a career that feels as good as it looks.

No power, no water, no heat - just our family, some books, and through smiles and gritted teeth 😬 in equal measure...

The past 4 days have been incredibly challenging for my family and so many others across Ireland dealing with the aftermath of the storm.

Since Friday, we’ve been without power, water, heat, and internet - making it extremely difficult to work, keep the kids occupied, and even just get basic necessities. The lights you see in the pics are from the factory next door.

The kids have been absolute troopers through it all, but the lack of routine and digital distractions has definitely taken its toll.

We’ve had to get creative, reading books, playing with toys, and just talking to each other more.

It’s been a true digital detox!

While we’re hopeful that school and everything else will be back to normal tomorrow, we’re doing what we can. Please be patient if you reach out to me this week, as myself and my team are doing our best to respond to any queries.

This storm has been a real challenge, but we’re hanging in there and supporting each other however we can. Wishing everyone else affected a speedy return to normalcy.

We’re all in this together!

P.S. I can’t wait to have a shower 🚿
