Join the SPJI committee for 2017/18 and work for Ireland's only student psychology journal dedicated to showcasing the exceptional work of undergraduate students.

a) why you are suitable for the role,
b) what you can bring to the committee,
c) any relevant experience you may have and
d) your favourite thing about studying psychology!

The 2017/18 committee positions available are as follows;
1. (Three) Editors
Students who have completed their first year of study are preferred. Editors are responsible for reading and evaluating submissions. They are expected to source peer reviewers and maintain contact with authors and peer reviewers throughout the editing process. This is a time-consuming role, with the majority of the work between July-September. This role is best suited to someone with strong attention to detail, time-management skills and organization skills. We stress again the time-consuming nature of the role, as well as the high level of dedication needed to perform it successfully.
2. Public Relations Officer (PRO)
Responsible for updating the Facebook and Twitter pages (but mainly Facebook) in order to generate interest, advertising events and deadlines, and maintaining the website. Seasonal newsletters should also be compiled and distributed. Furthermore, the PRO is expected to respond to all general queries submitted to the committee and maintain a link between the general public and the Journal. This position is best suited to someone who has excellent interpersonal skills, is well-spoken and is familiar with social media and marketing. There are no large projects with this role, but the individual is responsible for regular audience interaction and the workload is ongoing.
3. Publications Officer (PO)
The Publications Officer assembles the Journal and oversees the printing and online publication of the Journal. The PO must be confident in working with publication and design software. This position is best suited to someone who comfortable working under deadlines, is creative and tech savvy.
4. General Manager (GM)
The General Manager coordinates meetings, acts as secretary during these sessions, oversees all roles, ensures the smooth running of the committee and along with the PRO, manages general queries to the email account. The individual is responsible for the overall ex*****on of the Journal through task delegation, image maintenance and timeline adherence. This position is best suited to someone with excellent organizational skills, interpersonal skills and experience with project management.
5. Launch Officer
The Launch Officer organises the annual Journal launch party. This role includes the venue search, the acquisition of a guest speaker and the organization of other elements of the event. The individual is also responsible for coordinating an event that promotes the outreach of the Journal sometime during the spring. This position is best suited to someone with plenty of enthusiasm, an interest in event management and psychology education and the ability to responsibly manage money.
6. Finance Officer
The Finance Officer acquires sponsorship for the Journal by contacting potential and past sponsors and cultivating these relationships. This individual must have an interest in sales, marketing and money management. This position is best suited to someone with excellent interpersonal skills, who is outgoing, creative, and organized.
