Boulder Media Boulder Media is a Dublin based Animation studio. Established in August 2000.

Boulder has been working with leading broadcasters such as Cartoon Network US (Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends), Nickelodeon (El Tigre) the BBC (Funky Fables), Cartoon Network UK(The Amazing World of Gumball), and most recently a commission from Disney Europe to produce their first original feature Randy Cunningham: Ninth Grade Ninja. Throughout all of these larger productions we have still fo

und time to produce almost a dozen pilots for Disney, Film Roman and the BBC. As well as nurturing our own talented crew by investing in many in-house short films, which have gone on to be screened at film festivals around the world.

We are delighted to collaborate with Cultural & Creative Industries Skillnet to bring you a free masterclass with Emmy-nominated Animation Producer/Director Pete Michels (Rick and Morty, Family Guy, The Simpsons and Krapopolis) ⭐️

The masterclass aims to delve into the craft of directing animated comedy. It will take place at 6.30pm on Tuesday 27th January in The Guinness Enterprise Centre, D08YPP9.

This is an in-person only event (it will not be recorded).

Happy Thursday all and a huge thank you to everyone who's enjoyed our throwback posts in 2025.



We end the series on our feature-length production: My Little Pony: A New Generation. Produced in 2021, not only was it our first feature, it was the first CG feature entirely produced in Ireland, an achievement we're extremely proud of.



The new characters of Sunny, Izzy, Pipp, Zipp and Hitch launched on Netflix on September 24, 2021 and quickly hit #1 in the Kids section in 86 countries, as well as #1 across all genres in 20 countries.



With fantastic voice acting from talents such as Vanessa Hudgens, Liza Koshy and James Marsden, MLP: A New Generation is centred around the power of friendship and the delight of magic. With a strong message of unity and community, the film is a funny and heartwarming treat for all the family.

Thursday's here - let's talk about Go Jetters!

In 2015, Boulder teamed up with our friends at Giant Animation to produce the launch series of this colourful, educational children's show. Following the adventures of four globe-trotting heroes, who travel the world with their mentor Ubercorn, the series used the power of music and song to teach its young viewers facts about the countries our characters visited.

We animated, lit and rendered everything in-house, marking a milestone in Boulder Media’s journey into full CG production - paving the way for future series and even a feature film!

With a trip to Ireland to see the Giant's Causeway, and plenty of shenanigans in far flung places including the Amazon Rainforest, Dead Sea and Gobi Desert, Go Jetters! is an excellent resource for kids to learn all about the four corners of the world.

Happy Thursday! Here we go with another look at a fantastic Boulder production. Back in 2020, we produced My Little Pony: Pony Life, alongside Entertainment One. The series is a standalone spin-off of the incredibly popular My Little Pony franchise and can be enjoyed today on Amazon Prime.

Set against the backdrop of local spot the Sugarcube Corner – a bakery run by Pinkie Pie – the show leans into comedic and slice-of-life moments for both new and old My Little Pony characters. Embracing an irreverent and caricatured art style, the series ran for two seasons and celebrates friendship and the magic of an adventurous spirit ✨

Covid hit when our crew were deep in production, so MLP: Pony Life was a learning curve as we quickly pivoted to our remote pipeline. Our brilliant crew overcame that and all the other challenges 2020 threw our way, and we successfully delivered each season on track. Thursday is here again and today we're looking at a recent, very special Boulder production: Lulu is a Rhinoceros!



Based on the popular children's book by father / daughter duo Jason and Allison Flom, Lulu is a Rhinoceros premiered earlier this year on Apple TV and is available to watch there now. A musical animated short, the narrative spotlights fun-loving Lulu on her journey as she learns to embrace her true self. The short finds a wonderful balance of gorgeous visual storytelling and laughs, while showcasing its uplifting themes of kindness and acceptance.



With characters full of joy, fun musical numbers and a striking art style, Lulu is a Rhinoceros is a feel-good time for all the family. What's your favourite song or scene? Share with us below!

Happy Friday all! Let's take a look back at another Boulder production - today, the spotlight is on Transformers: Rescue Bots Academy!

Back in 2017, Boulder was commissioned by Hasbro to develop and produce Transformers: Rescue Bots Academy. The series ran for two seasons - over 100 episodes! - and is centred around veteran Rescue Bots Heatwave, Chase, Blades and Boulder, as they train a new class of young recruits at the Academy.

The show's storylines often highlighted the importance of teamwork and friendship, and as we directed everything in-house - from pre-production through to animation and final delivery - the theme of working together was more relevant than ever!

Transformers: Rescue Bots Academy remains a project Boulder is proud of. A family favourite, share your best moments or episodes below!
