Here are a few shots of a recently completed job in KITE STUDIOS, Co. Wicklow. This space is used primarily as a film set for many different types of productions.

Sonaspray® k-13 provided the perfect solution to tame the echo in the space. It is hard to see in these photos as it is very high up off the ground, but it certainly can be heard!

Sonaspray®: Different applications, no problem.

The need for an excellent acoustic and thermal solutions remain the same whether for office, hospitality, conference centres, or in this case, a multi-purpose hall.

We recently finished work on this nice parish hall in Newcastle, Co. Wicklow. You would be amazed how much the echo was reduced, saving teachers, performers and audience members having to strain.

Sonaspray®: It's not just seamless acoustics

A lot of architects and contractors have asked us about how Sonaspray achieves it's thermal specs. There is a dead-air space created in between the cellulose fibers, and the patented adhesive fills cracks, voids, and seams in the substrate. This allows for standard r-value of 3.7. If a higher value is needed, we can mechanically support Sonaspray to achieve values up to 19.

Newcastle parish hall was suffering some major echo issues and the administration contacted Absolute Acoustics to propose a solution.

We sent a team out to the hall to measure the reverb time in the space. As you could hear without even testing it, the space was overly reverberant and voice strain for teacher and class control was definitely an issue.

Given the profile of the ceiling , the sound reflections were even more chaotic and it made sonaspray the perfect choice, as it was going to cover all the surface area area of the troublesome ceiling.

Sonaspray FC was applied 40mm thick. The team were able to carefully apply the Sonaspray so as to preserve the nice aesthetic of the hall.

The difference in speech intelligibly was absolutely noticeable. The teachers have been sending good reports about working in the space, and everyone who is in the hall is surprised about the lack of echo.

Trident House, located in Blackrock , Dublin was designed to provide a large, spacious office facility in the heart of Blackrock village. With panoramic views of the sea, acoustic considerations were at the heart of the project to ensure a relaxed, comfortable working environment.

The fast program time was an important factor. Also important in the choice of Sonaspray was the fact that it is fire-rated B-s1, d0. Also, Sonaspray k13 is made from 80% recycled material, qualifying it for LEED credits.

The Sonaspray was applied pre-services. There was an exposed soffit laid out in the design. Sonaspray blended acoustically with the carpet flooring, resulting in a very satisfactory acoustic result.

Building a huge film studio? 😜 Absolute Acoustics recently completed acoustic treatment at Kite Studios , one of Ireland's best film and TV studios. We used fabric covered panels and Sonaspray K13 to bring unruly warehouse reverb down to studio quality stillness
