“This feels like one big house party — a bit of madness, a bit of magic, and in many ways a homecoming too.”
gill.food the Dublin-born chef who made his name shaking up London’s dining scene hits our fair city this month, curating the food at @333.fest.d6 as part of a buzzy three-floor festival of food, flavour and fun.

He talks to us about his produce-led approach to the big day, missing home, and his go-to spot for an off-duty pint in Dublin.

And just look at that incredible culinary line-up — Simone and Agne from Barry from Kevin from Keelan Higgs from Leticia Miranda from John Dwyer from Eric Matthews from and Paul James from to name but a few.

Frontlines: Irish Journalists Abroad, explores two centuries of Irish news writing. The exhibition which runs until the end of March 2026, documents the stories of reporters who worked tirelessly to expose political and social injustices, giving readers a front-row seat to history.

Frontlines demonstrates how Irish journalists, both past and present, have played a crucial role in keeping people informed and countering false narratives, and also pays tribute to their commitment to bringing the stories of marginalised people to light, from the victims of the 1890s Armenian massacres to the millions displaced by the ongoing civil war in Sudan.

Among those featured is Des Mullan, who covered the Biafran famine caused by a Nigerian government blockade during the country’s civil war. His on-the-ground reports, published in the Evening Herald, Irish Independent and Sunday Independent, stirred the hearts of readers to send in donations for Biafra. The exhibition also features journalists and writers who were household names at the height of their careers including Maeve Brennan, Michael Davitt and Charlotte O’Conor Eccles.

Frontlines also shines a light on modern-day reporters working overseas. Among the journalists interviewed for the exhibition video is .perry currently chief presenter with in Washington, who reflects on how her Irishness has helped her connect with people in the US.

Frontlines: Irish Journalists Abroad will run at EPIC until March 23rd. Go see!

Open House Dublin kicks off this weekend, and one of the many joys of Ireland’s largest festival of architecture is that with over 200 events there’s always something spectacular to see and do even if you happen to be a last minute merchant.

Open House Dublin is about discovery. Sometimes the best festival moments happen when you wander into something unexpected, an unplanned talk, a walk you hadn’t considered, a building you didn’t know existed. So don’t stress if you’re late to the bookings. There’s still a city full of Future Heritage waiting to be explored.

We’ve put together a quick guide to making the most of the festival without advance planning. A good way is to start with the drop-in events as not everything in Open House Dublin needs a ticket. Many talks, exhibitions, and casual events are designed to pop into, so this is a great option if you haven’t booked anything yet - just head to the website at OpenHouseDublin.com and filter events by the “Drop-in” option.

The full 2025 Open House Dublin programme is available there too.
