Wanted to let my listeners know that my latest Phoenix Blues show is on right now. I'll be playing songs by BB King, Bobby Bland, Ella Fitzgerald, Dawn Tyler Watson, Ray Charles and Sue Foley. The show is also partly a tribute to the Boss himself, Bruce Springsteen, who is 76 today. I'll be playing his songs "Born In the USA", "The Ghost of Tom Joad", "Dancing In the Dark" and "One Step Up". You can hear some of the songs below. At 10pm tonight, on Phoenix Blues, on 92.5 Phoenix FM, I'll be playing songs by Muddy Waters, opening with his brilliant song "You Can't Lose What You Ain't Never Had". I'm also playing stuff by Howlin' Wolf, the classic Etta James number "I'd Rather Go Blind", Beth Hart & Joe Bonamassa's version of the same song and some music by Dani Wilde and BB King featuring Eric Clapton. As well as this, some of the show is a tribute to Garbage singer Shirley Manson, who is 59 today. I'll also be shaking things up a bit with a songs by Garbage, including "Only Happy When It's Raining", "Q***r" and their awesome James Bond theme, "The World Is Not Enough", from the movie of the same name. I'm inviting all my listeners to join me for tonight's Phoenix Blues, at 10pm, on 92.5 Phoenix FM. I'll be starting with Blind Willie McTell, with his brilliant "Statesboro Blues". I'll also be playing music by John Lee Ho**er & Carlos Santana, Nina Simone, including her classic "Feeling Good" and her song "Blues For Mama", BB King and some slightly different stuff by Black Sabbath, to pay tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, who died on July 22nd. I'll be featuring the pioneering metal classic "Paranoid" and the awesome "Iron Man". Today is also the 56th anniversary of Big Brother & the Holding Company's album, Cheap Thrills.
