National Media Conference in partnership with The Irish Times and in partnership with Broadcasting Authority Ireland is Ireland's only student-run national media forum. A series of incisive and topical debates and discussions will take place in Trinity College on November 16th 2013. Student media junkies and current affairs observers are invited to attend this exciting event that will give student

media and international journalists, broadcasters, and filmmakers an equal platform for leading the debate on the future of media.

Acclaimed filmmaker and actor, Ian Fitzgibbon, will be speaking at our film roundtable this Saturday.

Best known on screen as Fr. Jessup from Father Ted, Ian has since revealed his talent in directing. His feature films, PERRIER'S BOUNTY (2009), A FILM WITH ME IN IT (2008) and DEATH OF A SUPERHERO (2011) have all garnered critical acclaim and his directorial work in television, MOONE BOY and TH*****ME, have only built on this track record.

We are delighted to welcome Ian to NMC13, completing the lineup of guests. A full detailed schedule will be released tomorrow, including the speakers for each talk.

Award Winning Filmmaker Ronan Burke, of Black Sheep Productions, will be participating in our film roundtable this Saturday.

Ronan & Rob Burke are a formidable filmmaking duo that first collaborated on their short film JELLYBABY in 2005, having worked on each others films throughout childhood and during their film schooling at DIT. The short screened at over 60 festivals and picked up a host of awards. Their next short, RUNNERS, won the IFTA for Best Short Film, among many others. They have just completed work on their latest feature, STANDBY, starring Brian Gleeson.
