CASTING CALL

This year we will be creating a short film to remove the stigma surrounding trans people's participation in sport. The film will highlight how trans and intersex people are welcomed and valued members of sports clubs around Ireland. We are looking for LGBTQ+ teams, teammates and transgender, non-binary, and intersex athletes who would like to participate in the film. The selected participants will be invited to attend the filming sessions in the Sport Ireland Campus in early / mid 2026 (final date TBC) where they will be interviewed and filmed playing their chosen sport.

Please submit a short video (which can be filmed on your phone) with a brief description of yourself / your team, your sport and why you would like to participate in the production.

Deadline for submission is the 21st of January. Please contact [email protected] to register and for more information.

“My name is Bernardine Quinn and in September 2022, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, this led to the next few months of attending hospital for a lumpectomy and treatment. I am now three years out from my diagnosis and in a place where I feel I need to acknowledge the great treatment and support I received. I’m also a le***an and manage an LGBT Community Centre in Dundalk where I have not heard much mention of breast health within my community. I felt now was a good time to raise breast awareness within the LGBT community and in particular, the le***an and trans community, by hosting a coffee morning.” Thank you Bernardine and to all involved for your incredible support, raising €2,300 for breast cancer research and awareness.

Join Wexford Pride for our annual Jingle Mingle! The time between Christmas and New year can be challenging for many LGBTQIA+ folks, this relaxed festive hang-out is dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive space to celebrate the season with new friends and chosen family.
