Study Reveals Creativity Delays Brain Ageing

A new international study — including researchers from Trinity College Dublin — shows that creative activities like music, dance and visual arts can help keep the brain younger. Examining data from over 1,400 people, scientists found that regular engagement in creative pursuits was linked to healthier brain function, while even short-term learning offered some benefits.

Professor Agustin Ibanez from Trinity says creativity is as important for brain health as exercise or diet, opening the door to new ways of protecting the brain as we age. The study appears in Nature Communications.
