The Pour Man's Podcast

The Pour Man's Podcast She runs the show, Brett does the writing and talking. We hope you'll come along with us. Cheers!

The continuing craft beer, cocktail, and wine adventures of a husband and wife team from LA with absolutely zero training but a lot of drinking experience, hoping to help people learn more about what they like to drink and where to get it. For most of his adult life, Brett drifted across the West, discovering new alcohol everywhere he stopped--cocktails and liquor in Phoenix, AZ; wine of every col

or and variety in Sonoma County, craft beer in Berkeley and San Diego, and every stop he made elsewhere to boot. Then he married Erin, who not only got him to put down roots in LA, but convinced him to start a podcast documenting their many adventures after countless tastings and a half dozen beerfests. The Pour Man's Podcast is based in the idea that we want to take the pretension out of wine and craft beer and just help people find what they like. We'll talk about everything from what to expect from different types of beer and wine, to how to talk about them, to showing you how to make classic cocktails, to even just sharing what we're drinking right now. We'll take you with us on our adventures to wineries and breweries all over the country (and sometimes the world), and clue you in on anything new and exciting we find.

A recap of our tasting experience at the San Diego Safari Park on Thursday! Great selection of local brews, including collabs with local big fish Karl Strauss on their Leaping Lemur and with Hangar 24 on their Tiger's Eye (plus a little something we brought with for lunch). A great addition to any Safari Park experience!

The Pour Man is a giant wimp. If I order the heat on anything past medium, I'm trying to signal someone I've been kidnapped or am trying to start an escape plan of some kind. So I'm probably out on this. But what about you? Would you try it?

Sam and friends are at it again with another blazin’ collaboration … IN YOUR MACE! A dark, roasty beer with a tan head, IN YOUR MACE! is a coffee milk stout brewed with cinnamon verum chips from the Zanzibar Islands, mace spice, milk sugars, coffee, chicory and most importantly … chili oils, t...

Minneapolis craft brewer Surly Brewing has put out a primer for anyone headed to Minnesota for the Super Bowl, which the Pour Wife has assured me is 100% accurate!

New beer review! We found the most outlandish sounding beer on the aisle to review for you, so below is what we thoughts of Acoustic Ales' Biggest Kiwis of Them All. We're hoping to do this at least once or twice a week. Come check out what we thought!

From time to time, we go to one of our local specialty liquor stores and try and find the weirdest sounding beer we can get our paws on. Acoustic Ales "We've Go...

And we have launch! The website is up, and will be updated going forward. We have a couple recommendations for you and a blog on our most recent adventures, and we're getting ready to do a piece on different types of hops and their effects on beer taste. For our wine lovers, keep an eye out; we'll be taking San Diego wine country in a couple of weeks' time and will have some new updates and recommendations for you!

Sorry for the radio silence, everyone! Just wanted to give you all a quick update. We're finishing getting the site ready to launch, and ideally will be ready to launch by Friday, January 26th, 2018! Check back for updates, and the site should be fully functional and the blog up and running, with podcasts and vlogs to come shortly after! Thanks for your patience, but we're on schedule for a January launch as promised!

You might have gotten the impression the Pour Wife and I are entirely about the booze. But we like good food, too, and we've always wanted to try a full Irish breakfast, in Ireland. Mission accomplished!

We'll update you again later today after we visit the Irish Whiskey Museum. Stay tuned!

The Pour Wife and I landed in Dublin 12 hours ago, so you get updates! Naturally, we're staying over a pub, so once we'd settled in we grabbed a pint before taking in a bit of culture (and more beer) on the Dublin Literary Pub Crawl. The Pour Wife might have a new favorite beer, but you'll have to wait to see what it is!
