NEXT EVENT - WRC GRAN CANARIA
Next week will see us return to our first WRC event in 3 years. This time to Rally Islas Canarias – Gran Canaria.
WRC Rally Spain was on the WRC calendar from 1991 – 2022 in the Catalunya region. The first 14 years were based in Lloret de Mar before it moved south to Salou in 2005.
Rally Islas Canarias has been running since 1977 and is the biggest rally in Spain behind Rally Catalunya. It is a regular event on the European Rally Championship each year.
Gran Canaria was also home to the annual Race of Champions event from 1992 to 2003.
Shown in the video below is a clip from the 2001 event between F1's Fernando Alonso and Le Mans Tom Kristensen, both in a Seat Cordoba WRC.
