About 25 years ago, I recorded an interview with my mother about her life.
I fully appreciated it at the time, because I had never met my grandfathers - they had both passed away before I was born. I understood what it meant to lose those stories.
My mother has since passed away, and having that recording now - her voice, her stories, her laughter - means everything to me.
I’ve recently started recording life story interviews with people, so their children and grandchildren have something to keep in the future.
I’m just curious - has anyone here ever recorded a parent or grandparent talking about their life? Or is it something you’ve ever thought about?
