Dhá lá dochreidte ag Comhdháil Leabhar Pháistí Éireann áit a rinneadh ceiliúradh ar leabhair do pháistí, áit a ndearnadh ceiliúradh ar 20 bliain de Futa Fata, agus áit ar bronnadh Gradam Leabhar Pháistí Éireann ar Tadhg Mac Dhonnagáin. Tá muid tuirseach ach tá ár gcroíthe lán inniu théis deireadh seachtaine den scoth!
Where or how to start recapping on the past two days... oh man, an amazing lineup for starters by Children's Books Ireland for this year's conference!
We were delighted to sponsor breakfast - we brought homemade tasty scones all the way from Pota in Connemara to the conference and they went down a storm!
Tadhg was honoured with the Children's Books Ireland Award and honestly we couldn't be prouder or happier for him, it's so deserved, for he has absolutely made an outstanding contribution to Children's literature in Ireland. Míle buíochas to Majella Ní Chríocháin and Imram ba nÓg for recognising all Tadhg has done. ❤️
On Sunday, Tadhg gave a talk about his life in publishing which included a history lesson which seems to have inspired so many attendees judging by the amount of lovely comments we got here in this crazy online social space - go raibh míle maith agaibh ar fad! ❤️ The presentation was illustrated by Tarsila Krüse who is a huge part of the Futa Fata story.
The conference gave us a chance to gather so many of the authors and illustrators we've published into a group photo. (Pic 5).
And we also managed to get a picture with Tadhg and PJ Lynch. Tadhg first saw "Kevin and the Blackbirds" by David Almond and illustrated by PJ at last year's conference. One rights enquiry and 12 months later, "Caoimhín agus na Lonta Dubha" is here and will be available in bookshops nationwide next month! And we're delighted to report that PJ is as happy about this as we are! Buíochas leat, a chara!
So sin agaibh é, ár míle buíochas le hAoife Murray agus foireann uile Leabhar Pháistí Éireann, agus, ar ndóigh, le gach duine agaibhse, ár léitheoirí!
Ar aghaidh linn.... tá tuilleadh le déanamh!
