We are delighted to welcome the acclaimed Cork singer songwriter and pianist Jack O’Rourke to the intimate surroundings of The Poet’s Lounge for what promises to be an unforgettable evening of music.
Described as “one of Ireland’s most gifted songwriters”, Jack has captivated audiences with his rich baritone voice, evocative piano playing and beautifully crafted songs. His music blends folk, contemporary and classical influences, exploring themes of love, identity, nature and belonging. His breakthrough song Silence became an anthem during Ireland’s Marriage Equality campaign, while his acclaimed album Wild Place cemented his reputation as one of Ireland’s finest musical storytellers.
Many will know Jack’s beautiful song Sea Swimming, inspired by the restorative power of the Irish sea. Written after discovering the joy of sea swimming during lockdown, Jack describes it as a song about renewal, reconnecting with nature and “washing away burdens and trauma” a sentiment that resonates deeply with anyone who has ever stepped into the Atlantic on Ireland’s wild coastline.
With seating limited to just 70 guests, this is not simply a concert. It is a rare opportunity to experience one of Ireland’s most compelling live performers in an atmosphere where every lyric, every note and every moment can truly be felt.
