Bhí sé ina phribléid dom cuireadh a fháil bheith I measc na n-aoichainteoirí a ghlac páirt i gcomhdháil á bhí eagraithe ag Tithe coiste an Oireachtais - Comhchoiste na Gaeilge, na Gaeltachta agus Phobal Labhartha na Gaeilge ar an ábhar ‘Geilleagar na Gaeltachta: Conas Mionchomhlachtaí a Fhorbairt i gCeantair Thuaithe’. I mo chuideachta bhí Máirín Ní Choistealbha-Seoige thar ceann Chomhlachas na gComharchumann agus na gComhlachtaí Pobalbhunaithe; Príomhfheidhmeannach Údarás na Gaeltachta – Tomás Ó Síocháin; chomh maith le Leascheannasaí Ghlór na nGael – Frainc Mac Cionnaith. Bhí plé iontach suimúíl againn faoi stiúr na n-éascaitheoirí iontach Gormfhlaith Ní Thuairisg agus Páidí Ó Lionáird.

It was a privilege to be invited to speak as part of the Panel by the Houses of the Oireachtas - Comhchoiste na Gaeilge, na Gaeltachta agus Phobal Labhartha na Gaeilge on the subject of ‘Geilleagar na Gaeltachta: Conas Mionchomhlachtaí a Fhorbairt i gCeantair Thuaithe’. On the Panel with me was Mairín Ní Choistealbha - Seoighe, Tómás Ó Síocháin and Frainc Mac Cionnaith. We had a great, lively discussion facilitated by Gormfhlaith Ní Thuairisg agus Páidí Ó Lionáird.

Scannán faoin Phailistín a thaifead mé 23 bliain ó shin. This is a film I made 23 years ago after spending time in the West Bank & Gaza 🎬

Chaith mé am sa Phailistín 23 bliain ó shin agus rinne mé taifead ar an saol thart orm, i nGaza agus an Bhruach thiar. Ba uafásach an saol é agus cha dtiocfadh liom samhlú mar atá sé sa lá atá inniú ann. Seo scannán a rinne mé agus mé ann.

I spent time in the West Bank & Gaza 23 years ago filming their world. What I experienced while there was nothing short of horrendous. Things have not improved in 23 years and as bad as it was then it is hard to imagine the conditions the Palestinian people are living in now. Words cannot explain what I documented there but the film I made may give you an insight into the everyday lives of Palestinian people living there.
