“Aircraft can’t reverse, you say? Not an issue for the Kerry Airport ground ops team.”

They utilise a Mototok — a compact, fully electric, remote-controlled, towbarless aircraft tug designed to manoeuvre aircraft safely and precisely on the ground.

Because it is remotely controlled, our operators can move around the aircraft while manoeuvring it, maintaining a clear view of the aircraft and surrounding area.

So while the aircraft itself may not have a reverse gear, the Mototok provides one which allows our team to position aircraft safely onto their respective parking stands. ✈️

✈️ Great news for Kerry Airport! 💚

According to the CSO, passenger numbers at Kerry Airport increased in Q2 2026 — another positive sign for connectivity, tourism and our local economy.

And as this Ryanair aircraft takes off from Kerry Airport, here’s to seeing more people travelling through the airport and more aircraft taking off and landing here in the months and years ahead! ✈️🌍
