It's day 4 of our road trip around the Scottish west coast. This is our final day and we're finishing strong! We wake up in Oban, known for its fresh seafood, and our hotel is right on the water with views of the ferry passing by. Oban is also home to a giant coliseum called McCaig’s Tower. Not what you'd expect from coastal Scotland! Next we visit Castle Stalker, which has been made famous by its appearances in pop culture, most notably as a location in Monty Python and the Holy the Grail and Outlander. We also stop at Glencoe to learn the tragic history of the 1692 massacre, a shocking event which Games of Thrones drew inspiration from. We also see a Harry Potter filming location (the site of Hagrid's Hut!). Next we visit the oldest working whisky distillery in Scotland. It's owned by French luxury brand Lalique and its on-site restaurant has two Michelin stars. We do a guided distillery tour and learn about the process and culture of making whisky. Our tour ends with, of course, a whisky tasting. Turns out it's the best whisky in the world. No really, it won best whisky in the world...! We end the day back in Edinburgh, pinching ourselves at how much we've seen and done in just 4 blissful days. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

It's day 3 of our 4-day trip around Scotland! We are ferry and island hopping around the west coast starting on the Isle of Mull (the night before departing we see a rare rainbow sunset...!). We visit the Isle of Iona, including Iona Abbey which is known as the birthplace of Christianity in Scotland. It was raided over and over by the Vikings and has an incredible connection to the Book of Kells. We're surprised to discover white-sand beaches with turquoise water too. 😍 The day also includes adorable Highland cows, the luckiest sheep in Scotland, creamy Scottish ice cream, and one last ferry to Oban back on the mainland.

Welcome to day 2 of our 4-day trip through Scotland! We're spending the entire day on the water making our way through the spectacular Treshnish Isles on the west coast. Starting out from Tobermory on the Isle of Mull with its candy-coloured houses, we visit a giant colony of puffins (we've never been this close!) and Fingal's Cave, a striking place that feels plucked from fantasy.

Shared a new video in our Ireland YouTube series visiting Kylemore Abbey, a castle draped in mist, tucked amid moody mountains at the edge of a lake. Not only do we learn the romantic love story behind this historic estate, we get to try the “legendary” Kylemore apple pie served with warm custard.
