Hello to all the new faces here.
We’re Gavin & Aaron — two brothers who founded Dreamcatcher many moons ago. Tomorrow we celebrate a milestone birthday, so we thought we’d (re)introduce ourselves and share a little bit of the story behind it all.
Our journey into filmmaking actually started long before weddings — with our amazing dad and his love of old 8mm film footage. That spark turned into making surf films, documenting adventures, and chasing waves around the world. If it wasn’t for our love of surfing, the outdoors and capturing those moments on camera, we probably never would have found weddings at all.
What began as a way to support an adventurous life in a very young industry has grown into something we feel incredibly grateful for. To every couple who has trusted us with their memories — thank you. It’s a privilege to be invited into one of the most meaningful days of your lives and to document it for the future.
This work has allowed us to live exactly where we want to be — here on the west coast of Ireland, surfing, running, taking photos, and spending time with family and friends in one of the most beautiful places in the world. None of it would run half as smoothly without Gavin’s very patient wife Deirdre quietly holding everything together behind the scenes.
To mark the birthday tomorrow, we’re dropping a slightly ridiculous (but very fun) little edit. We could have done cake and balloons… but that’s not really our style. Take it with a pinch of salt — we don’t take ourselves too seriously, but we absolutely take our films seriously.
