This month, DiscoverEU will award approximately 40,000 young people, aged 18, with rail travel passes and discount cards to explore Europe. As part of the Erasmus+ programme, this initiative gives young people the opportunity to travel primarily by train across Europe from1 July 2026 until 30 September 2027. Selected participants automatically become DiscoverEU Ambassadors, invited to share travel experiences on social media, using .

Good news! Thanks to EU policy and better monitoring, five major air pollutants have fallen significantly since 2005: sulphur dioxide (SO₂) by 85%, nitrogen oxides (NOₓ) by 53%, fine particles (PM2.5) by 38%, non-methane volatile organic compoundsby 35% and ammonia (NH₃) by 17%. This progress is not accidental. It is the result of ambitious legislation and the shared commitment of EU countries, industry, and of course, citizens.
