It is with great sadness that we announce the death of one of the most played songwriters on Paul's Favourites,
that being the lead singer and co-founder of The Mavericks Raul Malo. (Aged 60) R. I. P.
Malo was diagnosed with colon cancer in June 2024.
In September 2025, the singer announced that he was fighting LMD,(leptomeningeal Disease)
a cancer that affects the brain and spinal cord.
May he rest in peace.
