Sport Narrative Memoirs: HOMECOMING 🇮🇪

For Conor Gannon, the DLR Irish Open 2026 became a moment to remember. A title won at home, in front of a home crowd and a chapter of Irish tennis to remember.

HOMECOMING is our latest Sport Narrative Memoir featuring the emotion and the moments that led to lifting the trophy on home soil.

A story we were lucky enough to witness.

A moment worth keeping. 🎾🏆

Eight days. Two international draws. One content partnership. 🎾

For the DLR Irish Open, Sport Narrative worked as an extension of the Tennis Ireland team, delivering the event’s day-to-day social content alongside a wider media team.

Our job was to move as quickly as the action on court.

Photography. Vertical video. Live social coverage. Athlete stories. Daily posts and edits. Event recap.

Planned where possible. Reactive where necessary. Published in step with the tournament, while audiences were already watching, following and talking about what was happening.

That meant the Tennis Ireland team could focus on delivering the top-class events, while we captured its stories and kept the content moving throughout the tournament.

That is where we believe a strong content partnership earns its value.

For us, partnership also means looking beyond one event. It’s about finding better ways to tell the story year after year, growing the sport together, and building something that is creatively ambitious and commercially sustainable.

It’s not simply about showing up with cameras. It’s knowing the sport and its community, understanding what matters, having the trust to make decisions quickly, and taking ownership of your role within the content operation.

Creativity needs freedom. Speed needs trust. Great coverage needs both.

Proud to keep building with Tennis Ireland.

Thrilled to share this CEO testimonial from Enda Lynch and our partners at Badminton Ireland.

Working on the AIG VICTOR Irish Open over the last two years has been an incredible journey for Sport Narrative.

Together with Badminton Ireland, our work on the event was recognised at the Federation of Irish Sport Industry Awards 2026, winning Best Use of Communications Platforms.

For us, this campaign proved something we have always believed:

Great reach is not just about the size of your budget. It comes from creativity, speed, trust, and telling the story of the sport in a way people actually want to watch.

Across the campaign, we helped bring the Irish Open to life through athlete-led storytelling, playful formats, real-time event coverage, sponsor-integrated content, and performance reporting that showed the true value of the work.

The result was a campaign that reached and engaged far beyond Badminton Ireland’s existing audience and helped show what is possible when a sport backs creativity.

A huge thank you to Badminton Ireland for trusting us with the story of the Irish Open and for giving us the space to create.

Proud of what we have built together, and excited for what comes next.

IRISH SPORT INDUSTRY AWARDS WINNERS 🏆
Best Use of Communications Platform in Sport

A very special moment for Sport Narrative.

Years of hard work, a brilliant partnership with Badminton Ireland, and the support of people who believed in the work have led to this.

Together, we showed what is possible when a rising sport is given the creativity, care, and strategic attention it deserves.

Through the AIG VICTOR Irish Open campaign, we helped bring badminton and athletes to wider audiences, tell stories people wanted to follow, and prove that smart, social-first communication can create real visibility for sport in Ireland.

We are incredibly proud of this one.

Special thanks to Conor Doherty, Enda Lynch and the wider Badminton community, who have placed their trust in us to do our work to the full potential.

We’re very proud to share that Sport Narrative & Badminton Ireland have been shortlisted as finalists at the Federation of Irish Sport Industry Awards 2026 for Best Use of Communications Platform in Sport.

Our submission focused on our work on the AIG VICTOR Irish Open throughout Instagram and Facebook.

The campaign started a month before the first shuttle was served.

In the weeks leading up to the event, we worked on developing a fan-first approach to promotion. We built attention around the tournament through creative formats, player features, event information, and short-form content designed to give people more reason to care before they arrived at the venue or saw the first result online.

Riding the pre-promotion wave, during the tournament, the performance was amplified. The focus shifted to capturing the event as it happened. Match moments, athlete reactions, supporter energy, behind-the-scenes stories, and quick-turnaround reels all helped bring the Irish Open to life across social media.

The aim was simple: make the Irish Open feel as important online as it felt in the arena.

That work helped turn the event into a major digital moment for Irish badminton, reaching new audiences, growing engagement, and giving sponsors more meaningful visibility through content people actually wanted to watch.

This nomination means a lot because it recognises the type of work we care about most: telling the story of sport in a way that is immediate, human, creative, and useful for the organisations behind it.

A huge thank you to Badminton Ireland, Enda Lynch, Conor Doherty for trusting us with such an important event, and to everyone who helped bring the campaign to life.
