This morning, Moate proudly welcomed one of its own, Jimmy Gillivan, as he passed through our town on his incredible journey: running 4 marathons in 4 days, all in honor of his Dad, Andy. Jimmy is raising funds for the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association, a cause very close to his heart after the support they provided during his father’s brave battle with MND.

Andy was a beloved figure in our community—his humor, warmth, and love for family will always be remembered. With every step, Jimmy is not just running to Dublin, he’s carrying his Dad’s legacy with him, raising awareness and vital funds for those affected by this relentless disease.
