We are officially rolling out the red carpet for Session Magazine Summer Issue #14! The magazines are beginning to ship, available for purchase and we can’t wait for each and every one of you to receive your copy. In this issue, we sail between the lands of the midnight sun, climb walls and chase swell in Madagascar, foil through dreamy days in Fiji, follow women chasing waves in Puerto Rico and so much more.

With every issue, we strive to bring you aquatic inspiration from across the globe. No matter the discipline, destination, or wave riding craft of choice, we’re all united by a shared love of water. Session Magazine exists to celebrate that passion and the people who live it every day.

We hope Summer Isue #14 is one you’ll remember, one to keep on your coffee table, revisit when you need an escape, or pass along to a friend. There’s a certain weight to Mullaghmore that lingers before you even paddle out, the kind you feel in your chest as soon as the first set roars. North Atlantic energy, cold and deliberate, bending over shallow reef with complete disregard for anything in its path. Out here, it’s less about performance and more about presence, reading the water, accepting the risk and moving when it allows you to. Some waves stay with you. This is one of those places.

From the pages of Session Magazine Issue #13, “Growing In The Shadow Of Mountains”.

While the world knows Nazaré for its jaw-dropping waves, there’s more to the story than the jet skis, the wipeouts, and the world records. That’s exactly what we set out to document in “Growing in the Shadow of Mountains,” in our latest issue.
At the root of it all is the Hope Zones Foundation and the project behind Portugal’s first regenerative kelp farm, just minutes south of the Nazaré harbor. Pioneered by big wave legend João Macedo, with support from friends like Nic von Rupp, and backed by a crew of fishermen, surfers, scientists, and volunteers.

The kelp farm will help fish stocks, boost marine biodiversity, and, once harvested, serve as a natural fertilizer on nearby farms — restoring an ancient practice that dates back hundreds of years.

Teahupo’o doesn’t hand out moments like this very often. Three days in August when the reef woke up, the channel went quiet and every photographer in the water knew there was no room for hesitation. Positioning yourself in front of one of the heaviest waves on earth takes timing, trust and a willingness to sit deeper than comfort allows, all for a split second that disappears as fast as it comes. As the seasons shift and the days begin to stretch a little longer, we’re excited to welcome our Spring edition of Session Magazine Issue #13. This issue is packed with everything you’ve come to expect from us, and then some. From incredible adventures and breathtaking photography to stories of humans who truly inspire, these pages are filled with the kind of energy that keeps us chasing water and dreaming about the next session.

There’s a quiet kind of excitement in picking up a newly printed copy, its pages smooth and untouched, full of possibility. You can almost imagine where it will end up next, resting beside a warm fire at the end of a long day, riding along in the passenger seat during a long drive, slipped into a travel bag for the journey ahead, or carried along as you set off toward whatever comes next.
