The EAR 660 on steroids is finally fully wired up. Next up to grab some new NOS tubes and some CNC left to do, a new rear panel and better venting on its top. This thing pounds out the heat and weighs close to 25kg, pretty heavy.

I am calling it "BOB" bastard of a build,it was pretty painful at times. Also, if someone gives you a simple schematic and goes "dare you to build this" crumple it up and run, run a fecking mile.

Don't ask me what I've spent on this. It's pretty crazy. Some of the trafos cost €500 a pop and there's 6 in there and if you know the cost of Elma switching, you will have a fair idea of it's finished cost

Anyways, the most beautiful cascoded vari mu compressor on this planet is now complete. I'll probably spend the summer months fine tunning it and have it in action late summer/early autumn. Only took me about 2.5years. but I did lose the harddrive halfway through it and lost all it's build info and without some friends stepping in to get it moving again it probably would have sat longer. You know who you are😉.

Now to drink some coffee and contemplate life decisions🤣
