π The Story of the Cladeg π Episode
More than 300 years ago, in a small fishing village outside Galway, a man named Richard Joyce returned home after years in captivity. While enslaved, he learned the art of goldsmithing.
To show his love and loyalty, he made a unique ring for his lover: two hands holding a heart, topped with a crown.
π€ Hands = Friendship
β€οΈ Heart = Love
π Crown = Loyalty
From that moment on, the Cladge ring became a symbol of Irish heritage. Even today, the way you wear it tells a story, with the heart pointing outward in one sense, and an inner meaning taken.
