⚠️ TRAVEL UPDATE TUESDAY MORNING - BIG DELAYS EXPECTED ACROSS THE NORTHWEST 07/04/2026⚠️

Donegal /Leitrim
For those using the roads in the northwest on Tuesday morning a pretest is organised due to the rising fuel costs in Ireland.

A convoy of heavy goods vehicles and buses are expected to leave and make their way south through Stranorlar, Ballybofey, Donegal Town, Ballyshannon and Bundoran and then onto Sligo.

Sligo /Leitrim
An Garda Síochána Sligo/Leitrim have been made aware of a planned protest set to take place in County Sligo tomorrow the 7th of April 2026. It is believed that a convoy of Heavy Goods Vehicles will be departing Collooney on the N4 and Rathcormack on the N15 with all vehicles travelling towards Sligo Town shortly after 7AM. It is expected that there will be a large volume of slow moving traffic. Traffic disruption and delays should be expected from 7am to 1pm on both of these routes as well as Sligo town and its environs . All motorists travelling in the affected area are advised to plan their journeys and allow extra time for expected delays.
