BACK AFTER 4 YEARS: Skerries 100 marks 80 years since first event in 1946

The sound and colour of the Skerries 100 returns this summer, with the Country Crest-sponsored road race confirmed for Saturday, July 4 and Sunday, July 5, and the Classic Bikes run through Skerries on Friday, July 3.
Loughshinny Motorcycle Supporters Club has announced that one of Ireland’s great road racing fixtures will be back in 2026, marking 80 years since the event was first held in 1946.
For Skerries, it means the return of a spectacle that has long been stitched into the summer calendar: racing bikes tearing around the famous 2.9-mile course, spectators lining familiar roads, volunteers in high-vis doing quiet heroic work, and course residents once again playing their part in making the weekend possible.

Skerries Theatre Group invites you to audition for our October production (7 - 17th) of BRACE BRACE - a pulse-pounding play by Oli Forsyth.

"A plane fell out of the sky, and we happened to be on it."
BRACE BRACE is and edge-of-the -seat, high-stakes drama that feels horrifyingly immersive: a honeymooning couple get on a hijacked flight. We watch their plane career to the ground during what they think are their last moments. Back on the ground, survivors Ray and Sylvia struggle to reconcile their responses to this life-changing event. As cracks appear in their relationship, one closes themselves off, the other can't focus on anything else. A gripping story of the people we become in the aftermath of a catastrophe.

*What are we looking for?*
Female: Playing age 25-35. Strong and versatile acting abilities. Stage combat experience is a plus but willingness and ability to learn is also very welcome.
Male 1: Playing age 25-35. Strong dramatic presence but capable of portraying internal turmoil and vulnerability. Good physicality.
Male 2: Playing age 30-50. Really strong dramatic versatility - plays
multiple characters. Stage combat experience is a plus but willingness and ability to learn is also very welcome.
