Former Sligo Champion journalist Harry Keaney's new book is an account of the history and context of the 400-year old O’Connor Monument that is located in the south-east corner wall of the Sligo Abbey church, overlooking the high altar

She sadly passed away in June, after being diagnosed with cancer in February

Speaking about his late colleague, Bernie, who was a staff member at Sligo Garda Station, and how Relay For Life Sligo will have a special resonance for him and his colleagues this year, Aidan said: “Bernie walked the Relay track with us last year and, at that stage, she hadn’t been diagnosed with cancer

“She was really warm, very professional, diligent, a caring person and a fantastic member of staff. She was the embodiment of everything you’d want in a colleague"
