With the 11th annual Sligo Camino coming up on Saturday week next, July 4th, walkers are putting the finishing touches to their training ahead of the event.

For some it’s a social thing, and times aren’t that important, it’s a 34km, long distance ramble, that you can complete with a friend and just getting from Dromahair to Coolaney is the target, irrespective of time. For others, the competitive element is important and challenging yourself as well as the clock is the main motivation.

Whatever the aims, this singular event wouldn’t take place without a support team of volunteers who work tirelessly to make sure that the participants are kept fed and hydrated as they get around, not to mention committee members who have spent long months planning every step of the way.

Developed and operated by the MgGuigan family, who have over 20 years’ experience in the residential care sector, Ursuline Manor Healthcare has been purpose built to provide high-quality residential, respite and specialist care services in a modern and comfortable environment.

The facility is led by CEO Robert McGuigan, Registered Provider Representative Patrick McGuigan, who also oversees their established care homes in the Dublin region, and Person in Charge, Anne Quinn, an experienced nursing professional who has previously held senior management and DIrector of Nursing positions within the sector.
