A huge shout out to Andy’s incredible 4th class in Midleton ETNS. ⭐️ This inspiring group took sustainability into their own hands, using their coding expertise to calculate just how much waste happens due to absenteeism ✅

Presenting their Code Green Challenge and findings to our MD Ger and her team, the class showcased what they’re doing to combat the issue from their own classroom.

Together we’re teaming up to launch a pilot project focused on reducing waste and supporting the composting efforts in the school. ♻️ This is just the start! Tackling food waste from absence is something we’re bringing to the forefront, and we’re proud to be doing it with changemakers like this class. 💯

That’s right… free hot lunches EVERY day, for EVERY child in an additional 713 schools 🎉 We’re delighted that Minister Dara Calleary is drilling down on nutritional content because…

Putting parents in the driving seat ✅

Since the roll out of hot school meals, there has been much excitement and trepidation from parents. From mixed media reviews to differing kids opinions and school gate chit chat, it can be overwhelming to know what’s best. 🤷🏻‍♀️

➡️ That’s why we have created a comprehensive educational guide on each meal to give parents the full picture. From nutritional values to plant based variety, we want parents to see and understand for themselves. 🌱

We hope this will help parents to trust the service, reduce the need for sending ‘just in case’ snacks into school, and gives them the confidence to encourage their children to eat their hot lunch 🍴 Not only will this ensure a huge nutritional boost to kids, it will also reduce waste and allow you, as a parent, to make an informed decision on what’s best for your child. 🥕🍎

🇮🇪 Our road crew are busy launching this initiative in schools nationwide. 🧑🏻‍🏫 If you are a principal and interested in getting onboard, reach out to your designated Lunch Bag crew! Once your school is set up, fruit will be ordered through the schools account on our app. 📱
