What a fantastic day for our U11 Girls at the annual Torro Soccer Stars Tournament!
With no U11 category this year, the girls stepped up to compete in a mixed-age group, facing teams that were mostly a year older. Undaunted, they showed tremendous determination, skill, and team spirit throughout the day and were deservedly crowned Shield Winners. πŸ†πŸ‘

An outstanding achievement against older opposition and a credit to the players, coaches, and supporters who travelled along to cheer them on.
A huge thank you to everyone at Torro United for organising another excellent day of competitive girls' football.
πŸ’šπŸ€ Well done girls – you represented Trim Celtic AFC brilliantly and continue to make us proud! πŸ’šπŸ€

πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬ Best of Luck Lucy & Emily! πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬
Everyone at Trim Celtic AFC would like to wish Lucy and Emily Donnelly from our U15 Premier Girls the very best of luck as they represent the NERL Academy 2012 Girls at the SFAI Gaynor Cup in University of Limerick this week.
The girls get their campaign underway on Monday against Kerry, and we couldn't be prouder to see two of our own pulling on the NERL colours on such a big stage.
This is a fantastic achievement for both players and a reward for all the hard work, dedication, and commitment they have shown throughout the season.
We also extend our best wishes to all the players, coaches, and management of the NERL Academy squad as they embark on what promises to be an exciting and memorable week of football.
⚽ Go out, enjoy every minute, make memories, and do yourselves proud!
πŸ’šπŸ€ Good luck Lucy, Emily, and all at NERL Academy! πŸ’šπŸ€

Reserve Cup Round 1
Athboy Celtic 2nds 2 Trim Celtic 2nds 3
( Adam Wilson , Marcus Bailey pen , Liam Reilly )

Our reserves renewed their rivalry with local neighbours Athboy Celtic with the clubs meeting for the second time in two weeks following our victory here two weeks ago. This time up it was Athboy’s 2nds who provided the opposition and they proved an equally difficult opponent to overcome. It was looking straight forward for the hoops and they raced into an early lead with goals from Adam Wilson , heading home from a Marcus Bailey corner before Bailey himself doubled the lead from the penalty spot following a foul on Liam Reilly. A couple of uncharacteristic errors at the back allowed Athboy to get back into the game to level the tie at the break. Early in the second half a good Athboy move almost led to them taking the lead when the ball was slipped by keeper Peter Brennan and looked destined to hit the back of the net only for Gavin Darcy to swoop in and clear the ball inches from the line. This let off spurred the away side into action and after a couple of half chances Liam Reilly pounced with 15 minutes to go. A lovely through ball by Sean Walsh was seized on by Reilly who was brave to slide in on the advancing keeper and prod the loose ball over the line. Celtic had a few chances to see the game out but didn’t take them and a late straight red card for the home side put an end to their challenge. Next up it’s back to league action with a home game against Kentstown next Friday at 7:30. As usual all support is gratefully welcomed.

Quick update on the Trim Celtic AFC 100 Club.

As discussed at the Development Meeting, every cent raised goes directly into the club’s Development Fund for future projects agreed by the club and the new Development Committee. Phase 1 funding is already secured, so this fundraiser is about building for the future.

At the moment we only have 31 entries, with most coming from outside the club. We really need a strong push from within β€” coaches, players, parents, members and supporters.

The first draw will take place on Friday 29th May (hopefully not at a loss πŸ˜…).

If you haven’t signed up yet, now’s the time. If you’re already in, please help spread the word.

Anyone signed up since April will have their April subscription refunded, and anyone who paid upfront will have their 12 months start from May.

Huge thanks to everyone who has already supported it β€” and best of luck in the draw πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬

Fitzsimon Cup Rd 1
Trim Celtic 2nds 3 Aston Celtic 1
( Gavin Darcy pen , Niall Farrell , Jake Murray )

Our reserves advanced to the second round of the Fitzsimon cup thanks to a hard fought win at the MDL grounds on Saturday. After hitting the post through Luke Mahon the hoops fell behind to a well taken goal to go in one goal down at the break. Aston were grateful to the frame of the goal once more in the second half as Sean Walsh’s curling shot looked goal bound only to bounce out off the foot of the post. With twenty minutes to go Gavin Darcy levelled the tie with his second penalty of the season after a foul on Mahon in the box. Ten minutes later Niall Farrell headed in from a Darragh McGinley corner and the win was rounded of five minutes later when Jake Murray found the top corner from twenty five yards out to put the game beyond Aston’s reach. Next up is Athboy 2nds away in the Reserve Cup on Thursday evening.
