The duty on a pack of 20 ci******es will be increased by 50c as part of Budget 2026, however excise duty on alcohol is unchanged.

Pleased to see the return of VAT9 finalised. We have also had confirmation this will be a permanent measure. Hopefully this takes the discussion off the table for good.
However, progress needed on cost of SEOs and reducing high rates of excise.

Following on from the LVA Conference 2025, we are delighted to confirm that all proceeds from the sale of tickets will be going to ALONE Ireland

A total of €10,000 will be donated to assist Alone in their efforts to help older people who are lonely, isolated, ill, homeless, in poverty or facing other difficulties.

This was only possible thanks to our members’ support and engagement with the conference.
