Album of the Day: Stump - A Fierce Pancake
Ensign 1988
I stood with some mates in the pub recently and we discovered that the one record we all had in common in our collections was the Stump single "Charlton Heston" a quirky cut from this LP. It was with
that as my only reference that I listened to this album in my teens. I wasn't ready for the menagerie of songs that jumped out of the tape deck back then but revisiting albums with an older head can reveal the true beauty of the songs within. Clever sharp precise and most definitely twisted, an album that was never meant to grace your dinner parties or your Saturday night soiree with the team from accounts. Its one for the music listener, €10-€20 will pick you up a mint copy, if you see it buy it! If you have it just put it on and press play.

Album of the Day: Shame- Cutthroat
Rock your socks off with the lads from Shame on this their latest, and in my opinion best, offering. A band that are out having fun and not taking it all so seriously. You get the feeling that they could go on forever or they could chuck it all tomorrow if that's what suited them. While they're giving us albums of this quality I hope its the former. Stick on the headphones and give your ears a workout!

Album of the Day: Wednesday - Bleeds
Indie rock mixed with pure country thrown together with moments of pure heartbreak and yearning as well as full on aural assault. An album that, as with most Wednesday releases, rewards you with something different with every listen.

Not the best recording and not the best song of the night but probably the most recognisable tune from a band that have so many. Bounced from start to finish. Inspirals Carpets still Cool As F**k!

Album of the Day: Wilco- Hotel Yankee Foxtrot
This album I fist heard on CD in my brothers car. I was sucked in from that first moment. Heartbreak, hope and humor embody this indie rock masterpiece. This is the Wilco album that i keep coming back to.

EP of the Day: Pebbledash - To Cast the Sea in Concrete
This was going to be a featured ep whenever it arrived! Today was the day it dropped in the door and its on! Probably my favourite band at the moment. Hailing from Cork, part shoegaze, part alt folk they carry an immense intense sound that will fill your head House of Guinness fans will recognise there dulcid tones. If you haven't well you definitely should check them out! Have i made myself clear! 😅
