In a noun + noun construction, the second noun is often lenited—for example, oíche cheoil. However, when the second noun begins with f, the Caighdeán tells us not to lenite it.

The correct answer is A – trí uair an chloig ✅

We usually use the special plural form uaire after trí, ceithre, cúig and sé—for example, trí huaire.

However, when uair refers to a 60-minute unit and is followed by an chloig, this special plural form is not used. Therefore, we say trí uair an chloig. ⏰
