There is an inside joke and friendly rivalry amongst expats in Medellín. Those who live in either the El Poblado or Laureles neighborhoods rarely cross the river to go to the other neighborhood. Why you ask? 😎😁

Real estate prices in Laureles tend to be about 25% lower than many parts of El Poblado. Laureles has more two- or three-story older homes and a lower skyline than in El Poblado, although there are some mid-rise towers.
