Up for an award!

Fantastic news for our feature writer Linda Spillane, who has been nominated for an award at this year’s Local Ireland Media Awards.

Linda has been nominated in the category ‘National Lottery Community Journalist of the Year’ for her story ‘Miles for Mimi’ which appeared in The Munster Express edition 3 September, 2024.

The Munster Express has also been nominated for an award under the category ‘Best Local Advertisement’.

Winners of the awards will be announced at a gala dinner at the Mullingar Park Hotel on 11 September, next. Host for the evening will be RTÉ Lyric FM presenter Marty Whelan.

The Munster Express is a weekly newspaper covers the areas of Waterford City and County, South Kilkenny, Carrick-on-Suir, South Tipperary, New Ross and South Wexford. Established in 1859, it is the largest selling newspaper in the south-east of Ireland serving a population of over 100,000. The Munster Express Online, one of Ireland’s first provincial newspapers on the web, made its debut in May 1996.
