Screen Wexford, in association with the County Wexford Arts Office, is calling for applications to its Film Professional Development Fund - October 2025 initiative. 🎬✨

The award of up to €500 funding will be provided to emerging filmmakers based in the County Wexford region. We are looking for filmmakers to develop their craft.

The Film Professional Development Fund 2025 can also be used to help complete an already filmed piece. Full details are required for both the concept and the process.

The fund can be used for:
Research
Script Writing
Training Course
Filming
Post Production
Sound Design & Mix
Festival Entry

It was great to catch up today and meet so many new faces in the crew community. A special highlight was being shown around the brand-new Hatch Lab Studios podcast & sound studio by Niall, such an exciting addition for local creatives! 🎙️✨

A huge thank you to our fantastic tutors, industry professionals Mairead O’Sullivan and Colm Nolan, for leading the Introduction to the Locations Department for Regional Filmmakers workshop earlier this month! 🎬✨

It was a great and engaging day, beginning with practical advice at the National Opera House and concluding on location at the stunning Talbot Lake House.

Participants had the opportunity to learn how to scout and assess locations, gain insight from experienced location managers, and build skills to support productions across Ireland.

This event was proudly organised by Screen Wexford, Wexford County Council, and the National Talent Academies Ireland.

Deadline Approaching! 📣🎬

Applications are open for the New Voices Short Film Fund 2026, brought to you by Screen Wexford in partnership with County Wexford Arts Office and supported by Wexford County Council, Bodecii Film and Film Equipment Store / Hire.

This award aims to provide funding and support to emerging filmmakers based in the County Wexford region. We are looking for unique and original ideas from talented new filmmakers with authentic voices telling diverse stories reflecting Wexford.

We are seeking entries for a wide variety of films, including drama, animation, experimental art films or documentaries.

The total fund of €20,000 will be available through the scheme to support two short films in 2026. Each successful film will be awarded €10,000 (€7,000 cash and €3,000 worth of film equipment hire). Funding will be awarded to successful Creative Teams on the announcement of successful applications by the beginning of December 2025.

Screen Wexford was proud to support the Kennedy Summer School Opening Night at St. Michael’s Theatre, New Ross on Thursday, August 28th. 🎬✨

The evening featured a special screening of the powerful documentary From That Small Island, narrated by Colin Farrell. Prior to the screening, audiences enjoyed an insightful panel discussion with the filmmakers, moderated by Eammon H**e.

A highlight of the night was a beautiful video message from Colin Farrell himself, adding a special touch to an inspiring event and evening. 🌍🎥
