A huge thank you to everyone who took part in our two-day Directing Workshop with Laura Way. We hope the experience opened new doors and offered a fresh perspective on directing - especially learning from expert filmmaker and directing legend Laura Way herself. 🎬❤️

Participants took part in an intensive programme designed to strengthen their drama directing skills, gain insight into Laura’s unique approach to directing, and experience hands-on scene work by directing actors in small groups under her guidance.

We know there was huge interest in this workshop and only very limited spaces, so we appreciate everyone who applied and got involved - your passion for filmmaking continues to strengthen our screen community. 🙏

Huge thanks to the National Opera House for hosting us in such a fantastic space.

Organised by Screen Wexford and Bodecii Film, with support from County Wexford Arts Office.

We are proud to share 'They Don’t Know Us', a powerful new short musical film created by the talented young filmmakers of the County Wexford Youth Film Project, coordinated by Therese Dalton.

This film follows the journey of five teenagers as they navigate identity, self-expression, and how the world perceives them. All original songs were written and performed by members of the County Wexford Youth Film Project, with music recorded and mixed by Brendan Carthy at The Orchard Recording Studio.

Filmed on location at Kennedy College, New Ross, the film is now available to watch on YouTube.

Based in St. Michael’s Theatre, the County Wexford Youth Film Project provides hands-on filmmaking training for young people aged 13–20. From scriptwriting to post-production, participants collaborate to create films that reflect the issues and themes shaping their lives. Since 2005, more than 400 young people have taken part.

'They Don’t Know Us' is a County Wexford Youth Film Project short, funded by the County Wexford Arts Office and The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon, in partnership with St. Michael's Theatre New Ross.
