Now that winter is here, just a reminder of our novel 'Winter Solstice' by Lucy Costigan, a great read for a winters evening.

At dawn on the winter solstice, Marion Neilson’s dream will finally come to pass. Along with a handful of dignitaries and fellow seekers she will be admitted to Newgrange, the-five-thousand-year-old mound in the heart of Ireland, which is illuminated with the sun’s rays just once a year, on the Winter Solstice. While awaiting entry to the cairn, Marion reviews her tempestuous relationship with the enigmatic Peter, their gradual shift from friendship to explosive love, his gradual slump into depression and their heart-wrenching separation.

Within the sacred site of Newgrange the spirit of its extraordinary builders, artists and leaders still resonates, while ancient forces beckon its visitors to unburden their minds and unleash their dreams. For Marion, this is the chance to let go of the past and allow her emotional wounds to heal. As the first rays of light pierce through the darkness, will fate intervene to open her heart to new love?

The Last Day of Harry Clarke Published by Enlighten Publishing, December 2019

Harry Clarke, Irish stained-glass artist and illustrator, is confined to a Swiss sanatorium, suffering from Tuberculosis, far from his family and his work in the Studios in Dublin. Ravaged by illness, the rejection of the Geneva Window, and the effects of medication, Clarke is visited by friends, both real and imaginary. As darkness falls on a January evening in 1931, the arrival of his two best friends unleashes an inner psychic battle to free himself from the hellish fears of his childhood and to accomplish his one final quest, to travel back home. This drama in three acts is a fictional account of the final day of Harry Clarke.

Yvette's Transformation A Novel by Lucy Costigan

What would it feel like to wake up one morning and to be utterly transformed? Yvette's life is meaningless. Thirty-six, depressed, trapped in a career she detests, and recently dumped by her boyfriend, Yvette is at an all-time low. If she could only reach oblivion then maybe all her suffering would end. What Yvette doesn't realise is that something profound is about to alter her life forever. A spiritual awakening completely shatters Yvette's world of negative thinking and self-loathing. In its aftermath, Yvette experiences states of deep bliss, joy, and inner peace.

Accompanied by her beloved spaniel, Ruby, and her Persian cat, Millie, Yvette leaves city life far behind and moves to her dream cottage in the depths of Wicklow. But not everyone is bowled-over by Yvette's miraculous state of awareness. There's still her domineering mother, her jealous co-workers and her shallow friends to deal with. Set in Ireland and India, this is Yvette's journey to reclaim her vocation as a healer, to overcome ignorance and dark forces, to discover true friendship, and to find lasting union with her soulmate.
