This week, give a pet a home with we speak to Alex from to try and find a living home for these two beauties 🐾 🏡 🧡

Vinnie is a year old whippet x boy and is ready for his forever couch. Vinnie came in from Carlow pound, yet another unwanted sighthound ending up in the rescue system at such a young age.

Nero is also only a year old and yet another casualty of unneutered dogs. This boy is a greyhound x so a big boy but a gentle fella. Nero also came in from Carlow pound and has taken to rescue life like a pro. He loves a run in the field, loves watching his doggy neighbours, and keeping an eye on the comings and goings.

As any sightie owner will attest, these dogs are so misunderstood. Sweet, affectionate couch potatoes that after their walks are happy to snooze. Nero and Vinnie are gentlemen, and we’d love a home committed to training and structure. We’d like him to have a secure garden. Can live with or without another dog. Kids 10+.

If you’d like to welcome one of the lads (or both😉) as part of your family, please fill out an adoption form available on www.wicklowanimalwelfare.ie and contact our amazing rehoming team on Instagram to say you’d give them a forever home.

This week on give a home with Kilcoole Vets we speak to Ash Animal Rescue to find a loving home for Sox 🐾 🏡 ❤️

Meet sox came to us a few weeks back he is a 9 to 10 year old man who was not neutered upon arrival so we booked him straight to the vet so we could start looking for a new forever home. Wegot the vets to fully check him over and in that process they found a lump that they felt needed to be sent for testing (we are just waiting for the result) as well as that they discovered a heart murmur whilst he was being assessed which has led to him needing heart medication twice daily. All this being said finding him his forever home may be more challenging but we are still very hopeful. He is extremely affectionate and loves people being around.
(Don’t hesitate to donate big or small it will help us with his vet bills and it is greatly appreciated)

This week on Give a pet a home with Kilcoole Vets we speak to Sally from K.W.W.S.P.C.A. To try and find a loving home for Mark 🐾 🏡 ❤️

Mark is a 7 month old healthy Collie in great condition and has endless energy. A very friendly boy, Mark wants to be out investigating this world and just loves been taken for a walk. He’s still a bit strong on the lead so is not suitable for a child-handler. Collie’s are high-energy dogs so Mark will need a home where he gets plenty of exercise and stimulation. A home with a large amount of enclosed outdoor space is really essential for him. He is a sweet boy and still a puppy so will be a great family pet.

Mark has been neutered, is microchipped 972274001687127, has been vaccinated and has received the usual preventative flea/worm treatments.

If you have an interest in adopting Mark, please click on the following link to complete the ‘Expression of Interest Form’ and return the completed form to [email protected]

If you have any difficulties accessing or completing the form, please call 087-6887136 or email [email protected]. Tomorrow on Give a pet a home with Kilcoole Vets we're joined by Alex from Wicklow Animal Welfare to chat about Simba who is looking for her forever home.

Simba is an 8 month old, German shepherd Husky Crossbreed, full of beans and enthusiasm. She will need a very active home, training and structure. With a little work she will be a fabulous companion. She loves other dogs and loves a play so could live with another playful dog.

Simba will need a secure garden, teen plus home and some experience.

If interested in adopting please fill out an adoption on www.wicklowanimalwelfare.ie and message the amazing volunteers on Instagram to say you'd love to welcome Simba to your home! 💚

Tune into EAST COAST FM tomorrow at 7:40am for more details.

This week on Give a pet a home we speak to Sandra from Milo’s Mission Rescue to try and find a loving home for Kaiser 🏡 🐾 ❤️

Kaiser is a playful pup. Has been learning a lot about gentle play as can be boisterous and mouthy during play time. He has learned a lot of commands; sit, down, stay, middle, turn, look, place. All of these are great in doors but needs continuous training outdoors. Can get frustrated and bored during training so keep short and end with a game. He is very intelligent so mix things up. At the end I usually say Ready in a singsong way and throw a treat one way and say go, he will come back to you and throw tear in the other direction. Do this for a couple of minutes. Very high prey drive and distracted outside on walks. We have been training Let’s go. Kaiser can get over stimulated very quickly. Keep people and dog interactions short and sweet. Notice when he is getting over aroused and move on. Nearly 4 weeks of basic training done with professional. Has attended puppy play dates in a rescue centre(dspca) to help with socialisation.
Kaiser lives to curl up on the couch after dinner for the whole evening. He does not guard food. Did guard his things at the begin but once he knows you’re not taking it away he relaxes. Loves loves loves food! Can get barky at times when waiting on his food but stays in his Place. Toilet and crate trained. Needs forced naps throughout the day in his crate to manage his over stimulation. A beautiful looking boy who loves a good run and chasing rabbits in his dreams.

Contact Milo’s Mission Rescue if interested.
