Back live this week after last week's Jazz Festival hiatus and the sad news of the passing of Jack deJohnette, a musician who has shaped contemporary Jazz itself.. And so the first part of the show will include a live recording featuring Jack's unparalleled genius along with Pat Metheny, Dave Holland and Herbie Hancock from the 1990's, and a less well known (perhaps) selection from an album featuring Kenny Wheeler and Keith Jarrett released on ECM Records in 1975.
Music too from the Tord Gustavsen Trio, Emma Rawicz, Brandee Younger, Gavanya Doriaswamy, The Tomasz Stanko Quintet and a Monteverdi work scored for Sheng, viola and double bass.
