It's the last show before the customary summer break and a chance to play some favourites and some works that flow together, including another selection from Dino Saluzzi's forthcoming album marking his 90th birthday "El Viejo Caminante"; a new release of Shostakovich's Piano Concerto no 2 in F Major from Yuja Wang & The Boston Symphony Orchestra; a Fauré Nocturne performed by Marc André Hamelin; beautiful music from François Couturier & Dominique Pifarély's new album for ECM "Songs and Preludes", music from the Marcin Wasilewski Trio and from John Surman, and to finish, a long selection from Keith Jarrett's original Vienna Concert, recorded in 1992.

As always a big thank you for keeping me company on "Sunday Night" all through last Autumn, Winter and Spring, and I look forward to being with you again on the last Sunday in September.

A show that tries to weave the beauty and complexity of harmony tonight, including another selection from the forthcoming album "Homage" by Joe Lovano and the Marcin Wasilewski Trio, a short opening track from Yaron Herman and Tenebrae,KAEL & mirewyn, and some sublime ECM selections from albums by Louis Sclavis & Benjamin Moussay, Tord Gustavson Trio, Benjamin Lackner (el al from the album Spindrift), Lucian Ban & Mat Maneri. and Yukko Shiokawa and András Schiff. It has become a Tradition on Sunday Night to broadcast the Complete Easter Oratorio by J.S. Bach every Easter Sunday, specifically John Eliot Gardiner's Landmark 2014 recording - and so a chance to hear this rarely performed work in full tonight.

Music too from Charles Lloyd's Impromptu solo with birdsong, The Blue Nile, a beautiful song from John McCormack, among some other offerings.
