Israel is mourning the loss of Prof. Ada Yonath, one of the most important scientists in the country’s history and the first Israeli woman to win a Nobel Prize.

Yonath, 87, pioneered the study of the ribosome, the cellular structure responsible for producing proteins. Her decades of research transformed scientific understanding of how ribosomes function and how antibiotics interact with them, helping pave the way for the development of new antibiotics and the fight against antibiotic resistant bacteria.

Her work earned her the 2009 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, along with the Israel Prize, the Wolf Prize and international recognition as one of the world’s leading structural biologists.

She continued researching, publishing and running an active laboratory at the Weizmann Institute of Science until her final days.

Israel has lost a scientific giant whose work changed modern medicine and expanded the boundaries of human knowledge.

MARAGHEH, IRAN | AUGUST 30, 2026

Iranian officials in Maragheh commemorated former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei by inaugurating a sewage well in his memory.

During the ceremony, officials gathered around the open well, fed a hose into it and poured water inside while prayers were recited for Khamenei and for the health of current Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei.

Khamenei spent decades overseeing a regime that exported terrorism through the IRGC and its proxies, crushed dissent at home and helped destabilize the region. His memorial ceremony ended with Iranian officials standing over a sewer and pouring water into it.

Pro-Palestinian activists unfurled a massive Palestinian flag through the crowd at Electric Picnic in Ireland as festivalgoers chanted “From the river to the sea.”

The sheer irony is almost too obvious. These activists have attached themselves to a cause whose most infamous terrorist attack included the slaughter and kidnapping of young people at a music festival, yet they stand in another festival crowd chanting for the elimination of Israel as though Nova never happened.

It is also a perfect display of how shallow much of this activism has become. The slogans are memorized, the flags are raised and the performance continues, but the history and consequences of the cause they are promoting appear to register barely at all. For many of these grifters, “Palestine” has become less a serious political position than a costume for public virtue signaling.

IDF forces carried out a massive coordinated demolition operation in Houla today, detonating multiple structures across the southern Lebanese town as Israeli ground activity continued along the border region.

Houla has repeatedly been identified by the IDF as an area used by Hezbollah for military activity, including command positions, intelligence collection and other terror infrastructure. Israeli forces have previously destroyed Hezbollah facilities inside the town as part of operations aimed at preventing the organization from rebuilding its presence along Israel’s northern frontier.

Today’s demolitions come amid continued Israeli pressure across southern Lebanon against areas where Hezbollah has maintained military infrastructure despite repeated efforts to reestablish its capabilities near the border.

The IDF eliminated three terrorists in a targeted strike in Jenin: senior Hamas commander Qais Bitawi, PIJ Jenin Battalion terrorist Basel Turkman, and PIJ operative Moamen Jaradat of the Al-Silah al-Harithiya Company.

Their own organizations identified exactly who they were. Hamas memorialized Bitawi as a commander, while Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s Al-Quds Brigades published armed memorial portraits of Turkman and Jaradat and identified the units they served with.

The strike exposed the increasingly entrenched Hamas and PIJ presence in the West Bank, particularly in Jenin, where operatives from both organizations are functioning within overlapping networks, moving together, sharing militant infrastructure and participating in the same terror environment used to arm cells and launch attacks against Israelis.

This is the reality behind the sanitized descriptions of “young murdered Palestinian men” circulating online. Those “young men” were Hamas and PIJ terrorists operating together in Jenin as part of organizations committed to murdering Israelis and Jews.

Israel and Greece have signed the historic €3.035 billion “Achilles Shield” agreement, the largest defense deal ever between the two countries and one of the largest defense-export agreements in Israel’s history.

The deal will see Israel help build a nationwide, multi-layered air and missile defense network for Greece integrating David’s Sling, SPYDER and BARAK MX, alongside Israeli MMR multi-mission radars and a new national command-and-control system. Together, the network is designed to defend against ballistic and cruise missiles, aircraft, UAVs and drones while incorporating Greece’s existing air-defense capabilities.

The program is expected to become operational within approximately 35 months, with more than 25% Greek industrial participation valued at roughly €750 million, along with technology transfer intended to give Greece greater autonomy in operating, maintaining and upgrading the system.

The agreement represents more than a major Israeli defense export. It significantly deepens the strategic partnership between Israel and Greece while placing Israeli-developed technology at the center of one of Europe’s most ambitious national air-defense modernization programs.

The IDF eliminated Hamas military wing terrorist Hassam Osama Hussein Nasir in Deir al-Balah after identifying him as actively advancing attacks against Israeli civilians and troops.

Within hours, Hamas and pro-Palestinian propaganda pages were already sanitizing Nasir as simply a “young man,” stripping away the affiliation that explains why he was targeted. His funeral procession tells a very different story, with his body carried through the streets draped in Hamas flags.

While the propaganda machine works to recast terrorists as anonymous Gazan casualties, the IDF continues hunting down the Hamas terrorists hiding among civilians and advancing attacks against Israelis, one by one.

Israel launched widespread air, artillery and ground operations across multiple Hezbollah strongholds in southern Lebanon, with strikes reported in and around Zawtar al-Sharqiyah, Mayfadoun, al-Mansouri, al-Qantara, Yohmor al-Shaqif, Arnoun and Baraachit.

Fighter jets struck several areas while artillery and machine-gun fire were reported elsewhere, alongside Israeli military movement near Haddatha and ground activity in additional sectors.
