Congretulations.
Many of us wish to preserve this wonders. The barbarian new semi barbarian building plans in Jerusalem, 50 floors, follow non human instincts. Same in the hills around Ramallah, more. Lack of taste, of apreciation to mother earth. We can't blame only Shmutritz or Ben Gvir for it. Civilized people like Mayor of Jerusalem may fall into this spirit, it is more convenient to be part of the herd. So this is the time yo stop, contemplete, argue and fight for the future look, what are we leaving behind us for future generation ? Do we have the right for this testless, Spartan ethics, destruction of olive trees, hills, landscape, nature, fir the sake of greed ? Are we not willing to pay anything for sake of peace, common good ?
Palestinian architect and author Suad Amiry has won the Great Arab Minds award for Architecture and Design for her work in preserving the architectural heritage of Palestine.
As founder of Riwaq Centre for Architectural Conservation, Amiry was instrumental in one of the largest documentation initiatives in Palestine, establishing a registry of more than 50,000 historic buildings.
She has also overseen the restoration of dozens of sites, providing cultural and community centres in 50 villages.
Amiry has won a number of accolades, including the Aga Khan Award for Architecture, granted for the revitalisation of the Birzeit Historic Centre with Riwaq.
